Social Profile:

Before there was Rotten City Pizza, there was “the Rottenest City on the Pacific Coast.” The lawlessness that gave Emery its nickname gave us some inspiration: let’s open up a pizza shop that refuses to conform. Our crew of creative pizza chefs sources toppings locally and organically when they can, and puts a whole lot of New York expertise into the pies they bake. The result? A simple product made up of flavors as rich as the history of E’ville. Check out our dining hall, outdoor garden, or game room, and raise a glass to the Rottenest City with the best pizza.

The pies are New York-style, but the toppings are locally sourced at this pizzeria with delivery.

I love this place! They’re just off the main streets and on a corner,so easier to see.
I ABSOLUTELY could not get out the door without digging into the wings, since they were served up piping hot….and I definitely grabbed a pizza slice for a bite as well.
These guys are friendly, hospitable, and really, in my opinion, the dough behind their delicious pizzas!!! And I really enjoyed the IPA choices, cold and great with the food.

Heroic slice on Hollis Street in the former location of the East Bay “red light center”, Rotten City (so named for its prohibition-era reputation) offers a white slice, a cheese slice, a mushroom slice, a pepperoni slice and some other fancy schmancy additions. The dough here is crispy, flat, and hot with hints of sourdough and fermentation, and stands up favorably to all East Coast style contenders. While not being a dine-in spot, my two slices did not survive the trip to the hood of my car.
Crunchy, chewy, lots of umami in the cheese and sauce. A really well done slice for Emeryville, plus Keith and Mike are super cool, and great additions to the neighborhood and have been here for about 15 years. (I slept on this place like forever. Apologies)

Highly recommended!

Perfect new york style pizza! From the texture of the dough, the texture of the cheese, the greasiness of it, the crust on the edges, everything was spot on and good! High quality ingredients. Overall, best pizza of this style I’ve tried in the bay area!

Standout local pizza spot that is much roomier inside than expected. The thin style of pizza is well done with a good sear on the crust that stays crispy throughout with a nice chew and an excellent variation of toppings. Their sub selection is also great. Nice beer selection as well. A new outdoor patio compliments the upstairs play room with two TVs, pool table, and board games for a fun group outing.

Not the greatest location but man this place definitely set an insanely high bar for NY style pizza. Perfect flavor on the crust, just the right amount of grease, this place is a definite visit if you’re a fan of NY style pizza.

One of the best pieces of pepperoni pizza I’ve ever had. They had a varied menu of other pies/slices to get and every slice I’ve tried has been delicious.
Highly recommend it.

Very cool place for pizza by the slice. Inventive and delicious combos, small but good selection of beers, nice patio, good prices. I may become a regular.

I grew up in NYC so every now and again I miss “NY style” pizza, or what I call “pizza” ; ) Of all the places I have tried that offer NY-style thin crust slices, this one is the best. The “fat slice” is what’s up. Good beer selection, and an outdoor patio / outdoor ordering window.

I come here for lunch from time to time and I’m never displeased. They have a thin crunchy crust pizza for about $5 and it is so perfect. If you’re ever in the area, it’s worth finding a parking spot for.
