November 2025: Le Moyne bistro serves classic French food. The food was good, but not great. My expectations were high best on reviews, so I walked away slightly disappointed both with the food and service. For example, the bread was served without small bread plates, we had to put bread on the table cloth. It is a small detail, but felt lacking for a top rated restaurant. Note that bread was 8 dollars, otherwise bread was not served with the meal. We were not asked if we were there for a special occasion. We were. They did not ask, we did not tell. The music was Michael Jackson from start to the end of our dinner. The atmosphere would have been more special if the music was either French or New Orleans jazz. Everything was just so ordinary. I would not recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. I had blue crab appetizer, shrimp bisque, duck confit, and chocolate mousse. Shrimp bisque was a bit oversalted. The other dishes were fine. Overall experience not as good as I hoped.

This is a classic French restaurant, there is nothing New Orleans specific about it.
Had the escargot in bone marrow, it was the best dish of the night.
Followed it up with French onion soup, very good.
My main course was the steak frites. The steak was chewy and I didn’t love the sauce.

Traveled to New Orleans from Tampa and we have been trying all kinds of different restaurants. This one was our favorite so far. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with friendly service. We sat at the bar and Taylor and Will were so attentive to our every need. Had the onion soup, lobster bisque, duck confiet, and the snapper in the tomato broth. The duck confiet was my favorite, the soups were as delicious as they were traditional. If you are looking for an upscale restaurant with traditional French dining experience, I can not recommend this place enough. Thanks again Taylor and Will.

Came for New Year’s Eve and the food was amazing! Wine selection was excellent, and there was a prefixed menu that was to die for ! I highly recommend starting at Maria’s Oyster Bar for a snack and some wine and making your way over to Le Moyne (the two are connected). Ask for Mike, his service was attentive and kind.

Le Moynes is a masterclass in French cuisine and presentation. The atmosphere is warm and sophisticated—perfect for a special evening.
Every dish looked like it belonged in a culinary magazine, and the flavors more than lived up to the presentation. The menu has options for all tastes and preferences. The dessert was so good we forgot to take a picture! Do not skip on the brown butter banana cake!
Service was impeccable – attentive, and deeply knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings.
This place is a must when in New Orleans! We will be back again!

Mmm the food was soooo good! I can’t wait to go back and try another special and have more delicious things! I’ve never had sweetbreads before, and I figured this would be the best place to try it. Omg it was so tender and the potatoes melted on your mouth. The whole dish was perfection. The service was great too. The tables around us were loud but the ambiance is pretty nice. This was a perfect post art walk dinner!

Had an absolutely magical evening at Le Moyne tonight. Our server, Mike, was extremely well versed in the menu and gave great recommendations as well as phenomenal service! Michelin needs to visit this place because the food they’re putting out is truly something to speak for. This newly established restaurant has created an atmosphere that is uniquely New Orleans, yet refined and in service and style. Cheers to the staff and chefs! Highly recommended!

Le Moyne – Review

We absolutely loved everything about Le Moyne. From the food to the service and the warm and luxurious atmosphere, we would recommend this restraunt to anyone. We are already planning our next trip back! We started with the bread and butter a delicious hot house made sourdough bread. With our bread and before our main course we enjoyed cocktails and the French onion soup. The French onion soup is like drinking liquid gold, and I will be dreaming about it, until I get the chance to have it again. For main courses we had the Steak Frits and the Beef Short Rib each paired with a glass of wine. The Steak frits was amazing, the steak cooked to a perfect medium rare sitting in a delicious dark sauce, the frits were nice and crunchy without being hard and salted nicely. The beef short rib was especially tender just a gentle push of the fork and it was falling apart. The rib was paired with a delicious variety of root vegetables. To finish the evening we ended with desert the chocolate mouse which was just the right level of sweetness and complexity of other flavors, as well as the brown butter banana cake served with ice cream…chefs kiss!
On top of this amazing meal the service was out of this world. Several servers helped us from efficiently taking our order and checking in on us, to laying out our napkins on our laps, even coming by before desert with a special tool to clear and crumbs from the table while we wait!

We stopped in late & last minute on Valentine’s Day, not sure if we could be seated – Le Moyne Bistro and our server Raul really did outstanding. Drink pairings with our Bone Marrow & Escargot & Crab au Gratin appetizers, the Duck confit a L’Orange was incredible. Our server Raul was the star of the show – we will be back soon!
