Tried out Amami recently and was pleasantly surprised! The sashimi was the clear standout—super fresh with thick, melt-in-your-mouth slices. We ordered one of the dinner combos, which was pretty solid, but honestly, the sashimi is what makes this place worth coming back to. Some of the newer or cooked dishes were just okay, but nothing disappointing. Service was friendly, and the vibe is laid-back and casual. Definitely coming back for more sashimi!

Very welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service! The menu has a great variety, the prices are very reasonable, and everything is super fresh. Our kids really enjoyed the gyozas and chicken karaage, and we loved the chef’s choice nigiri. We’ll definitely be back — so happy to have this place in our neighborhood!

The omakase is on point! Writing this review has me wanting to go back again. The specialty roll … mouth watering. My experience was absolutely phenomenal, not just because the food tasted so great but because the staff is incredible as well, friendly and charismatic. Great sushi, great staff, great ambiance … this is the go-to spot alone or with friends!

The service is incredibly attentive, with staff going out of their way to ensure a you get a good dining experience. The only downside was that a some menu items were missing during (no sake ), but that didn’t detract from the overall meal. The Omakase is a must-try, showcasing an impressive selection of fresh, different variety of fish, making your taste buds explode. The “Melted in the Mouth” roll is also a standout – absolutely delicious and living up to its name with each bite. “Dragon” can be skipped though.

Always a great experience at Amami, at any location. Happy that this SF location opened just a few mins from where I live! The omakase is as fresh and tender as I’ve had each time, portion sizes were large and were not sacrificed. Added an extra seared toro with uni which was mouth watering. Amami roll was good though not wow’d, will try another selection next time for variety. Chicken katsu and karaage had a reeeaal nice satisfying crisp to it. Def will be back!

Decent spot with an okay price. Food was tasty, service was courteous, no complains. Got the Chirashi lunch special and a Melted in the Mouth roll. I was one of the few customers around for lunch time, no waits and had a 4-person table just for myself.

Best sushi in San Francisco! We got the Omakase, shrimp and vegetable tempura, spicy salmon roll and jalapeño roll. Everything was delicious! The fish was fresh and high quality. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. This is now my favorite Omakase place.

I stopped by with friends and the workers were all friendly and lovely to talk to.
Also the food was well made and prepared. It just melted in our mouths and the taste was so amazing that we ate all of our plates clean!

We really enjoyed our food and their omakase was sooo good! Everything tasted fresh and had a lovely presentation. Food is well priced and there’s a vey nice ambiance to this place, I also really appreciated that our waiter was very attentive and made sure our cups were always refilled. Will definitely go back!
