Sagano Japanese Steakhouse of Brighton is part of the family of 5 Sagano Steakhouses in Michigan. It is the only location that does not feature a Bistro with Sushi. Sagano was formed back in 2003 in Flint Township Michigan by Shiro Inoue and his wife Inja Song when they opened their first Japanese Bistro featuring some of the best sushi around. Two years later the steakhouse was added and quickly became wildly popular with local customers. Sagano features home made dressings for our salads, home made soups, and home made dipping sauces which all get rave reviews. Ask our customers about their favorite and it will certainly involve a discussion about the yum yum sauce. Sagano is famous for generous portions! Hope to see you soon!

Although some of the reviews indicated a long wait, this was not our experience. We called around 7 p.m. to inquire about the wait time and if they had call-ahead seating, and we were given an 8:00 reservation. There were only 2 of us, and once other people who would be seated at the same table arrived we were all seated. The server was friendly and promptly took our drink orders, and the soups and salads were also prompt. The soup is delicious! If you don’t like Ginger, be sure to ask for a different dressing on your salad. Before long our chef arrived, and the real fun began! He was entertaining, pleasant, funny and a little mischievous. I regret not getting his name so I could give him credit here. A group of strangers randomly seated together were soon laughing and dining together as if we knew one another. It was great fun, the food was delicious (and plentiful – you’ll have leftovers) and I look forward to dining there again.

WOW! Our chef Romee was fantastic! Food portions were great, you will not leave hunger. Besides the soup and salad serving the filet melted in your mouth, shrimp, scallops and calamari were also fantastic. Fresh and cooked to perfection. Seasoned perfectly. Went out with friends for our usually closing the end year/Christmas dinner. No looking further for a new place, we’ll be going back again and even sooner. Believe there’s a special occasion coming up, lol Wish they would still serve their sushi, they had the best. Prices were good for what you got.

I drove over an hour from livonia in a heavy snow storm to meet a woman ive been dating, i made a reservation inside the restaurant at 6:58p.m. I decided to sit in my car while i waited for my date to show up, after waiting about 10 minutes, I decided to go back inside the restaurant to wait till she arrived to find the manager locked the door, and placed this sign on the front door. Not only did this ruin my date with this woman, it ruined my experience with this restaurant.

This is a fun place for a family dinner. The food is pretty solid – we liked it better than other Hibachi places in the area. The chefs are fun as well. They always like to engage my 7 year old, and he loves it. The portions are very generous, so you’ll have food to take home. I suggest making reservations as it can get pretty busy.
