I think this Chili’s ranks above others when it comes to meal quality. Burgers and fries are always on point whereas other locations fall short and can serve dry burgers/limp fries etc. Servers here can be a hit or miss. We go to Chili’s at least once a month, sometimes twice. On this last visit, our server blew us off almost the entire meal. She stopped by once before our food came out to ask if we wanted another drink, and then did not return until the end of the meal to tell us how to pay. We had multiple plates stacked up at the end of our table from appetizers and empty drink cups, but we were not once checked in on or bussed during our meal. She literally skipped over our table at one point, checking the ones on either side of us and not giving us as much of glance. I don’t know if it’s because we are a younger biracial couple or some other reason, but it felt very intentional after seeing her give attention to those on either side of us multiple times. We also felt our drinks seemed slightly underfilled compared to the usual, but maybe the blue color is playing tricks on my eyes. We enjoyed our food, but felt our experience was not what we usually expect from Chili’s.

Julie was our server and said she just started 2 weeks ago but was hands down the best waitress we’ve ever had! Her bubbly personality is contagious and me and my boyfriend loved having her as our server 🙂 if there is a server of the month award she deserves it

June 2025- Back again for two burgers in the late afternoon: The Big QP Burger & Oldtimer with cheese w/o mustard. Always satisfying food.

May 2025 – With an unexpected change of plans on Mother’s Day this year, we were so happy that Chili’s in Avon, CT was open until 10PM as many restaurants in the area closed at 8PM. They were doing good business when we arrived just before nine. Apparently, many others were glad, too.

Chili’s reminded us why we should eat here more often as long-time customers over the decades. Large menu with a variety of hamburgers, sandwiches, fajitas, quesadillas, steaks, salads and a few diet choices, big dining space and separate bar, casual vibe, great margaritas and friendly service.

Drinks: Two Presidente Patron classic margaritas were well made, the raspberry tea not on the menu was served in a plastic mug & the Heineken in a bottle with a chilled glass worked for someone who is a microbrew guy.

Food:The chicken bacon ranch quesadilla was delicious, as was the welldone mushroom swiss burger with fries. Because I make great ribs myself, mine I have to say are better, but I still liked my half rack of dry rub baby back ribs. It was a little dry and charred, but it may have been because it was close to closing time. Mac and cheese side was rich and creamy. Fries on two of our orders were well cooked.

Chili’s has always been a reliable go-to chain restaurant for ribs, fajitas, burgers, and more. Returning to CT after many years in SoCal some time ago, I told people it was the only place you could get a good margarita. There are equally good places now or better for this drink, but Chili’s still provides a balanced menu and a comfortable environment for patrons who want to sit at the bar, have a family dinner with young children or a casual date.

The Avon Chili’s I used to go to for many consecutive years. This was my first time here in a while. More recently, it was because of the Coronavirus, and we’ve been eating at small businesses to help keep them open. Prior to this, schedules, destinations, and locations changed our dining places.

Feb. 2022, we were seated in the bar right after opening. Our server, also the bartender, was polite and attentive. They don’t have a happy hour, but their Valentine’s Day themed $5. margarita for the month was very good. I wanted the Blue Pacific Margarita I used to love, but they’ve changed this recipe, and it now has pineapple juice like many other drinks on the menu. This change didn’t work for me.

Also new was they no longer charge for their chips and salsa as they did before, which was something truly surprising to me after returning from CA, where these are always complimentary. The basket brought to our table was drenched with oil. We heard other customers inquire about this, and everyone was told it was because they were made fresh today. Salsa was simply blended tomato, but as a free starter, diners ate them up.

Their original menu items remain the most consistent. The full order of ribs still falls off the bone tender and flavorful. The fries were lacking.

The six ounce sirloin ordered rare to medium rare was cooked medium, and the loaded mashed potatoes that came with the meal tasted off to me. Lack of seasoning? Pre-made? I ate a few bites and got the rest to go for my partner. Broccoli was fair.

It was hard to choose between three and four stars for this review, but I’m giving it four for the years of good food I had here, the chain as a whole, and perhaps other dishes that may excel.

Great takeout experiences the last few times. Food is done very well and accurately. The service in the restaurant is noticeably improved, friendly staff, and looks to be adequately staffed as well. We were not at all disappointed. Would definitely go back!

Eating undercooked ground beef can be risky due to the potential presence of harmful bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella. To ensure safety, ground beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Undercooked ground beef can cause foodborne illnesses with symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, and fever.
Ordered thru doordash on 07/23/25 at 3:35 pm and got a raw burger again this is my 7th plus time I get served raw meat is this being done purposely cause it’s ridiculous now when I go to the store food is awesome is there no accountability when ordering online cause even on the chili’s app that’s where all the other raw burger meat was ordered who doesn’t know that burger meat can get someone sick when specifically when left in a box for an amount of time can create bacteria a lesson for your cooks and manager at that store

My wife and kid love chilies first and foremost, we dine there quite frequently; however we usually sit in the bar area and it’s always amazing, great service and great order quality but tonight we sat in the dinning area and the service was completely different, order quality wasn’t what it usually is, service felt rushed overall not friendly or what we’re used to, we’ll be back but only in the bar area.

I have to say, my experience at Chili’s was unforgettable thanks to Thomas A. Hands down, this was the BEST service I’ve ever had in my entire life. Thomas went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect—friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making the visit amazing. He didn’t just take our order; he made the whole dining experience fun, smooth, and memorable. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Thomas is truly amazing, and Chili’s is lucky to have him.

So, our server was great. She brought drinks and stuff regularly. My wife’s nachos were good…. But my burger was less than stellar. When the expo brought it out, I seriously thought it was the wrong burger. It looked nothing like the picture and nothing like the burgers I have had there in the past. It looked like a McDonalds burger. A $15 McDonald’s burger. I asked if this was right as it looked nothing like it’s supposed to. Her response was “I don’t know what to do about.” Yeah…

So, do a quick search for what the burger is supposed to look like and compare. The fact that the fries were cold didn’t help.

Takeout Review:

Chili’s is a popular chain restaurant with approximately 1600 locations. The first one opened in 1975 in Texas and serves Tex-Mex and American food. Now, you can find Chili’s worldwide.

I don’t usually go to Chili’s or do takeout from there, it’s a once in a while thing. For my takeout meal, I decided on the Triple Dipper; this came with three different appetizers of your choice. I chose burger sliders, Nashville hot mozzarella, and honey chipotle chicken crispers. There were dipping sauces as well, I opted for ranch. Everything tasted hot, crunchy, and flavorsome. The only thing I didn’t like were the Nashville hot mozzarella sticks, I thought they were too salty. Overall, it’s a decent chain with plenty of options to choose from.

My hubby and I went Sat night. The food was very good….a little bit spicy on the corn on the cob and a little too much salt and pepper on the fries. Other than that, the food was great! Both of us got the smoked combo.
