We went to Mass Street Fish House for the first time the other night and had an enjoyable meal. First off, our server was EXCELLENT. Really personable and on top of everything. Major appreciation for her (wish we remembered her name!). My wife has non-standard food allergies (cilantro, high fructose corn syrup) and she was great at sorting out ingredients in the bread and other items for us so she could eat without concern.
We had an assortment of fresh oysters and they were superb. Don’t know how Mass Street gets their oysters but wish we could find more freshness like this in the midwest. Had the tinned razor clams as another starter and they were FANTASTIC. Can’t wait to go back and get them again.
For our mains we had the pan roasted salmon and the trout. The trout was served with hummus and a pork butter (?). The trout was great. The bed of hummus and pork butter not exactly to our liking. Nonetheless, the fish was excellently prepared and we had a great dinner.
Looking forward to going back and trying the oysters and the tinned razor clams again!

This was our first time here and we really enjoyed the happy hour with $2 oysters. We had the ocean kiss which were very good although small. We also had the char grilled oysters and we would probably not order that again. Overall, we will definitely come back – all the food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. We would like to try dinner next time.

We come here often and always have a fabulous experience. This was our first time trying the paella. It’s delicious, with a generous portion of seafood, and rice that is a bit crispy underneath – amazing. Recommended!

The staff are so helpful with there menu,the seafood is fresh and delicious. I love this place!! The staff is so professional, smiling and making you feel so comfortable. We have had the calamari , the crab cakes , the low tide and high tide before. The fishing handchips are so delicious. I can’t wait to try the Mahi tuna nachos and some other pastas. You can’t go wrong here at this place.Prices are excellent worth every penny.Especially with the service they give you. You all should be very proud of yourself and you did a great great job. Friendly and fun hostesses, wind blocked and heated outdoor seating, great drinks, amazing food. Clam chowder was legitimate. Lobster roll and lobster pasta were really good and fresh. Had both east and west coast oysters, really good. We really liked the west coast ones, I forget the exact name. Our waiter Breton was amazing! For a busy area this place was well managed so little wait on a nice weather Friday evening. We will definitely be back!

Our party of four came at the tail end of happy hour (5:30pm). We didn’t have a reservation and the place was very crowded. The hostess kindly sat us at a table with the understanding that they needed it at 6:45pm for a reservation—we jumped on it! We ordered $2 oysters, fish tacos (fried/battered fish by the way), and popcorn shrimp from the happy hour menu. They had orange wine from Slovenia which was delicious! We then ordered the fish and chips from the regular menu. Overall, everything was fantastic and the service was quick. The homemade hot sauce was yummy. If we had more time we’d stay for a full dinner, a reason to go back! Highly recommend!

The food was delicious, but I was violently ill after eating there but I did get the scallops and hake. I can’t say for sure it was the food, as everything looked and tasted good. Our wait staff was great! They were very accommodating with my dairy and gluten allergies.

This is a hidden gem in Kansas. As many times I have gone to Lawrence just to eat, I do not know how I missed this place. We were greeted by “J” He was the best. The atmosphere was relaxing yet energizing. The Difficult Daughter with the lime was beyond good. It’ an excellent fall drink. And the tuna Nachos were off the chain. We also had firecracker shrimp which was equally good and these were just appetizers. We never mad it to the main meal. If you like bitter spirits, then Love Grows cocktail is nice. It shows that the GM pays attention to detail. There were real cut flowers on the tables and in the bathroom. Outdoor seating options are also available. The menu changes with the season I believe. I post a menu for you to see what they have currently. We will differently return!
