The $19.99 Grilled Fish and $24.99 Fresh Bullfrog (3lbs!) are steals. The Perilla bullfrog was incredibly tender, and the Twice-Cooked Pork was sliced perfectly thin with expert knife work. Don’t miss the Kung Pao Chicken—it’s the perfect sweet and savory balance.
The private rooms are great for groups, and they even offer a 10-person set menu ($268) with free KTV. High quality, huge portions, and unbeatable prices. I’ll definitely be back!
We got the signature grilled fish ($19.99) plus a few other dishes and the total was a little over $70 for everything. Portions were solid — we actually had leftovers.
The fish was tender with a nice mild spice and that classic numbing kick. The crispy pork stomach and eggplant were both really good, and the Kyoto pork patty disappeared fast.
They also have private rooms with karaoke, which would be fun for a group.
Overall, a solid spot if you’re craving Sichuan food and going with a few friends.
We ordered Chongqing grilled fish, dry pot frog, pickled pepper intestines, spicy crispy tripe, fish-fragrant pork, mala beef, shredded cabbage, beef wrap, and Sichuan braised beef noodle soup. Every dish was flavorful and well-seasoned, with real mala heat and good wok aroma. Portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. Highly recommended if you enjoy bold, spicy Sichuan cuisine!
My favorite is their Mao Xue Wang (Sichuan-style spicy blood curd soup). They’re incredibly generous with the ingredients; a large portion is served with great care, and the flavor is wonderfully fragrant and perfectly balanced.
Overall, it was a great experience. If you’re craving Sichuan cuisine and want a truly satisfying meal, this is a place you can confidently choose!
Tried Chuan Yu, and wow — they really bring the heat.
Their famous $19.99 Sichuan grilled whole fish is HUGE, fresh, and fiery. Every bite hits.
And there’s more:
Chongqing-style mixed meats with tofu,
cold chicken soaked in spicy sauce —
straight-up Chongqing street flavors with that signature numbing spice.
Need a break from the heat?
The crispy pork pancake is crunchy, savory, and surprisingly addictive.
Xiao long bao are classic and juicy.
Bonus: private seating and karaoke —
perfect for a friends’ night out

A Golden House in Temple City truly stands out for its authentic flavors. The Spicy Boiled Beef is rich, fragrant, and incredibly tender—perfect with a bowl of white rice. The Crispy Chicken Cartilage rivals spicy chicken, cooked to a golden crunch that’s great with beer. The Brown Sugar Mochi Balls are crispy outside, soft inside, and filled with delightful syrup. The Golden Fish Maw Chicken Hotpot impressed me most—freshly stewed daily with a whole chicken, silky broth, and plenty of fish maw. Outstanding!
I only discovered it today, and it’s absolutely delicious!
The portions are generous, and the flavors are fantastic. Overall, it has a very authentic Chongqing flavor! The service is also excellent. When we went during lunchtime, it was almost full.
It seems that delicious food will always be discovered wherever it is!
Pork Pancake (Jingdu Style): Crispy and golden on the outside, incredibly juicy inside. As soon as you cut into it, the juices flow—so fragrant and perfect with steamed rice.
️ Chongqing Twice-Cooked Pork (Chef’s Special): Great balance of lean and fatty pork, stir-fried with garlic sprouts until aromatic. Savory at first, then spicy, with a slightly sweet finish—totally addictive.
Braised Eggplant (Chef’s Special): Soft and tender without being mushy, fully coated in a rich sauce. One bite leads to another, especially with rice.
Bamboo Shoots with Shredded Pork (Chef’s Special): Crisp bamboo shoots and tender pork create a clean, refreshing texture. Light yet incredibly satisfying and very rice-friendly.
Sichuan Stir-Fried Pork (Chef’s Special): Serious wok hei here—chili aroma and pork flavor burst together. This dish disappeared fast, a true “clean-plate” favorite.
Perilla-Style Live Frog (3LB): Made with live frog, and you can really tell the difference. The meat is firm, bouncy, and fresh, elevated by the fragrant perilla leaves. Mildly spicy and very approachable, even if you’re not a heavy spice lover.
