January 2025:
Came here for a team dinner and was very pleased with my meal. We shared three starters: apple and kale salad; hamachi crudo; and the bean hummus. All of the starters were very tasty . Good variety.

For our mains, we shared the short rib gnocchi and the 35oz bone in ribeye. The steak was very flavorful. Cooked perfectly and served with chimichurri sauce. The steak came with what tasted like twice fried French fries with an egg on top. A delicious steak that easily fed the four of us.

Dessert highlights was the olive oil cake and the chocolate cake.

Service was friendly and attentive. A wonderful meal. Would definitely come back again for more delicious food.

Wow wow wow! 10/10 dining experience on a recent business trip. Absolutely everything on the menu looked delicious, but I had to go for the pate appetizer; silky smooth and a perfect complement to the crusty focaccia. The dessert sorbets were a great palette cleanser after the meal! If you’re dining solo or as a couple and love to cook, the bar offers a great view of some of the kitchen expo. My server Cameron (and all the staff, honestly) was attentive and on top of their game!

We arrived right when the doors opened and, although they were fully booked for the evening, they kindly made room for the two of us, which immediately set the tone for a great experience.

The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. Our server, Chelsea, was incredibly sweet and attentive, making the evening feel relaxed and welcoming.

I ordered the pork chop, which was a perfect balance of sweet and savory, cooked beautifully. We also ordered the Thai chili potatoes, and I could genuinely eat those all day. Id go back for those alone. They were my favorite dish of the night. My partner had the miso salmon. While miso isn’t typically my preference, we share everything, and I have to say it was very well done. The salmon was woodfire grilled, and you could taste the richness from the grill without it having an overpowering smoky flavor.

Overall, a wonderful dining experience and a great option for a nice evening out.

A huge shoutout to the chef! Every bite was an amazing experience, from the appetizers to the entrée and dessert. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! I was genuinely blown away and delighted! Thanks also to the bar crew, everyone was super friendly! Seriously, hats off to the chef! I could feel my the love in those plates! And also get back to my childhood memories.

Heard good things but our experience was fair. The servers were wonderful but of the 3 menu items just the app was amazing. The wagyu beef tartar on a fried potato puck was great. The porchetta plate my wife had was tough and needed salt. My meatball plate was mostly tasteless. I’m 2nd generation Italian and meatballs are usually full of flavor and wonderfully aromatic with herbs, cheese and so on. These were completely flat so much so that salt couldn’t help. $31 for these 3 meatballs was outrageous and very disappointing. Otherwise, my black Manhattan was great.

Not sure why this place gets so much hype. Very expensive and the food was only fair. My wife had the rotisserie chicken, which was pretty bland. Polenta was soupy. I had the pasta with fennel sausage and clams – extremely salty. Wagyu tartar was fair. Cocktails were excellent, but pricey.Restaurant was very loud – and this was on a Wednesday evening. I don’t mind an expensive meal if the food knocks my socks off. This meal fell short of expectations.

3.5/5

Sharing my insights on the recent dining experience. The service and ambiance were exemplary, setting a remarkable tone. However, turning attention to the culinary aspect, the scallop, while exhibiting a subtle hint of fishiness, compensated admirably with commendable flavors and a pleasing texture. Conversely, the dried-aged ribeye fell short, lacking in both flavor and succulence. Certain portions displayed a fibrous consistency, indicative of potential overcooking, resulting in a challenging texture. I didn’t notice any of the dried age flavor in a dried aged steak.

Despite high expectations, the dish failed to meet anticipated standards. Contrarily, the potatoes and caramelized onions proved to be a culinary highlight, showcasing exceptional quality. The lamb, unfortunately, presented a dry texture and a deficiency in flavor. It is worth noting, however, that the carrot stood out as an excellent component of the meal. Overall, the dining experience encompassed a mix of impressions, with notable moments of culinary excellence and areas that left room for improvement.

Perhaps the most disappointing meal I’ve had in Boulder. Service was alternating between absent, pushy, and rude. Wait staff repeatedly reached across tablemates to serve or pick up. They twice tried to remive a wine glass that still had plenty yet to drink. As for the food, my chicken ($38) was dry, my wife’s tagliolini pasta dish ($37) had a marginal amount of pasta, only two shitake mushrooms, and barely a hint of advertised truffle taste, and the salmon ($47) was ok but such a small filet I shared my chicken with our guest. The prices are much higher than can be justified for such food items and the prep. Now that said the apple and kale salad was great. As for atmosphere, it is loud and noisy. We’ve been to Oak before and enjoyed it. I dont know what has happened. The ownership group also owns Corrida and CBurger, both of which we’ve been to in the last three weeks and had outstanding food, servive, and atmosphere.

The food was stupendous!
Unfortunately we were hoping to use our $200 in Blackbird app credits, and while the server confirmed they accepted the credits here, they ended up charging our card for the entire bill through the Blackbird app. They also added an “automatic” 22% tip calculated AFTER tax without consulting us first.
Really too bad as the food was really amazing. Don’t offer the Blackbird app service if you do not train employees on how to use it.
