Welcome to our kitchen! Two chefs and a foodie set out to change the way people eat for the better. Our inspiration? The meals we had when our friends came over. The food. The pairings. The exploration. The energy. And the promise that on any given day we’d eat or drink something we wouldn’t find anywhere else. So we opened Tender Greens in 2006 and started a food revolution. We start with the best ingredients, cook from the heart and let our food do the talking. No compromises, no matter what. Sustainability is at the core of all the choices we make, from our food to our planet to the future of farming. It’s in our DNA. After all, we’re chefs.

Modern, cafeteria-style chain serving area-sourced, globally influenced plates, sandwiches & salads.

I came into town for a conference and these were the lunches we were provided from Tender Greens. We didn’t individually pre-order. The conference just offered us a bunch of choices. The food was AMAZING. First of all, I’m from the Midwest… I’d never expect cooked veggies in a box lunch. Not only was I surprised to see them in there, but I was shocked by how fantastic they were. I literally took one of the pics just to figure out what kind of squash it was so I could have it again at some point.
The sandwich and cookie were amazing as well. 5 stars. Outstanding.

Tender greens are good , for longest time love their salad. But this DTLA location needs a bit improvement regarding customer service. Paul, one of the restaurant manager needs to loosen up a bit. No need to be rude or ignore customers, smile a bit. I came in this place around 1:20pm so less rush hour for lunch. The place was not even packed nor busy, other than that I still like their salad, except for that one person. The cashier was nice and even other servers.

What a great find as an alternative to very expensive restaurant choices when staying downtown Los Angeles.
We were staying at the Biltmore and did not want to eat at a high end restaurant for dinner.
Tender Greens absolutely fit the bill!
We went on a Wednesday evening at 5:30, walked right up to the counter to order. We both ordered the plate with salmon as our protein. Romaine hearts salad and brown rice our two sides.
The salmon was perfectly grilled, the romaine salad was fresh, crisp and tossed with a tasty Cesar dressing and croutons, the brown rice was chewy and flavorful.
We each had a glass of Cabernet. Total bill-wine and meal-came to roughly $55.
We both gave Tender Greens a big Thumbs Up!

Tender Green has really nailed it this time with their chicken posole—it’s simply fantastic! The flavors are wonderfully balanced, not too spicy or salty, which made it just what I was in the mood for. It also arrived right on time. Since I got it to-go, I can’t share much about the dining atmosphere, but I do recall being disappointed with their Chicken Adobo on my last visit; it was my first time trying it, and it turned out to be quite salty. I’m open to giving it another chance to see if they’ve made any improvements.

Extremely disappointed. Would not recommend ordering this via delivery!!!! Save yourself the headache. This is the second time my husband and I have ordered from Tender Greens Downtown LA via Uber Eats, and both times our dinner was wrong.
About a week ago, my mashed potatoes were missing. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them out again. Today, my salmon was completely missing! ‍ replaced with a random ketchup packet in my plate instead (see image). After a long day at work, this is beyond frustrating.

My husband spoke to someone named Tatyana I believe (think the manager was too busy to speak), and the only solutions offered were:

Drive over and pick up the salmon myself (the whole reason I ordered via Uber Eats is because I couldn’t pick it up, plus we already paid a delivery fee so how does this benefit us? ), or
“Possibly” refund just the salmon portion.
You would think they’d refund the whole plate for the inconvenience and THEIR mistake?? leaving me with having mash potato and veggie for dinner now.
To me that’s poor customer service and shows how little they care about the mistake that they made. Tried to give them a pass last time, but clearly nothing has improved. The food arrives cold and missing main items. Will not be ordering here again.

Tender Greens is one of my favorite salad based spots with excellent menu items.

I ordered the grilled salmon with romaine hearts, roasted vegetables with a side of fried chicken. The salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The vegetables were roasted just right and the salad was great. The fried chicken was just a little overcooked but it was still good, flavor wise. Overall a solid lunch.

I’d definitely come back here again and try their other menu items. Parking is limited to street or local structures. Great lunch spot if you’re walking distance.

In a word: Tasty.
The food here is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. There is a good selection of items to choose from on the menu. I particularly enjoyed the salads and the fresh roasted vegetables. I tasted the chipotle chicken and it was tender and tasty. Ok, I went back the next day and ordered the Italian salad and it comes with a tomato vinaigrette, all housemade. I loved the mixed greens, arugula, riddichio, salami and cheese, olives and red onions. Very good! I especially enjoyed the desserts, which I enjoyed both times as I went back a second time to get the carrot cupcake and caramel macadamia cookie. Yummy!
Would I return to this restaurant? Yes!

Fresh and healthy dishes in downtown Los Angeles. The menu is straightforward, the prices are high. The main choices are meat and fish. However, these proteins can also be omitted. The service was quick and professional. The food tasted very good.

Tender Greens has a lot going for it. The food is fresh, service is friendly, and the ambiance is clean and welcoming. I especially liked the variety of healthy options on the menu. Portions are generous, but the price feels a little high compared to the portion size. Still, it’s a great spot I’d go back to.
