So happy we stumbled into this wonderful establishment while visiting our son in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis. The staff and owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the place has such a warm, inviting vibe—perfect for enjoying a great cocktail at the bar or savoring some excellent food.
We loved it so much that we came back the very next day for their Valentine’s Day special meal, which was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere, the people, and the quality of everything made it a highlight of our trip.
Don’t miss The Wildflower Saloon if you’re ever in town—it’s a true gem

I had a lovely time at the BBQ Saloon. Phil and his team have me a great service. It was a pleasure getting to know them and they treated me kindly and with respect. The food and drinks were great. I will certainly come back.

I was looking for a place for dinner & drinks near my hotel. I walked into this place and knew I made the right choice! They recently merged with Wildflower catering & the food was fabulous! I had a chicken salad wrap with fries and a couple of the whiskey drinks which were yum. My server, Kate, was delightful, and made me feel so welcome! I would definitely come here again & highly recommend it!

Lovely and lively place with great BBQ, great cocktails and superb whiskey collection!

The BBQ platter, cornbread, buffalo chicken wrap and fries were all very tasty. Freshly prepared upon order with quality ingredients. The old fashioned and Wild Orchid cocktails were superb.

A must try place for great food – but the service is what will keep you coming back again! Super friendly and warm service.

A gem of a corner pub to stumble upon. The service was top tier and paired wonderfully with a late lunch. A definite recommendation.

Disappointing BBQ Experience in a City Known for It. Eager to experience the famed BBQ scene in this city, I was let down by my visit to this restaurant. I can’t believe I encountered some of the worst-tasting BBQ I’ve ever had, especially in a place celebrated for it.
The brisket was incredibly fatty, to the point where it was almost inedible. The pulled pork had an off-putting gamey flavor, and the ribs were unpleasantly dry. Even the sides, which often provide some redemption, fell short. The cornbread was entirely forgettable, and their “signature” slaw was nothing to write home about.
To top it all off, the toasted ravioli, a dish this city is also known for, tasted exactly like the frozen, market-boxed variety. It’s truly a shame, as I was genuinely looking forward to a fantastic BBQ meal.

If you’re traveling, do not come here for either the famed BBQ or the toasted ravioli. It’s no wonder the locals were just getting their beers.

Ordered via phone for take-out.
Got the BBQ pulled pork quesadilla because they were out of chicken.
The first bite essentially tasted like a BBQ pizza to me.
The food came with regular sour cream (left) and tomato sauce (right).
I was astounded that it was pork because it tasted so much like chicken.

I will definitely be back to try the BBQ chicken version and other items on the menu.

I really wish I could rate it higher. But when both the food and wait times are lacking, something’s got to give.

I was excited to try my first St. Louis barbecue and was just a little hungry–I didn’t want a huge meal with sides and a basket of bread. So their menu looked perfect to me–two different varieties of mini sliders and even individual ribs for $3. I sat on the patio and ordered the brisket sliders and one rib. I was asked if I wanted the spicy or sweet barbecue sauce on the side, and opted for spicy.

The food came out rather quickly. It was the first time in my life I had tasted tough brisket. What a disappointment. Brisket should be fatty, salty, soft to chew. This was stringy and dry. I dipped it in the sauce, which was good, but couldn’t save the meat. I did love the garlic-toasted bun. I hoped the rib might be better, since the menu had called it “falling off the bone.” Unfortunately, GNAWING off the bone was the best I could do. That piece of meat wasn’t worth $3.

My server was at first very friendly and attentive, but when they checked on me at the end of my meal, I said I’d like the check as soon as they were able. Fifteen minutes later the check was brought, and ten minutes after that my card was returned. I actually took the receipt with the tip inside because I hadn’t seen my server in ages and needed to catch a bus (I’d already missed one).

I used their restroom while I was inside. They are very spacious and clean.

I wanted to return on a hungrier day and try their pork steak, but I’m not sure I want to spend $20 if the meat will be the same quality this was. In a city known for its BBQ, they’re going to have to step it up.

If you are in for below avergae food and service thats place for you. The most BBQ thing about the place is the name. The google pictures are very old and they do not offer any racks of ribs. You can order single rib (i ordered 3)…which was average at best. The ceaser salad was watery and the staff was nice but completely absent. Not a BBQ place but an average bar.

The salmon was cooked very, very well, but could have used more seasoning. The rib appetizer came with the meal. It had good flavor, but was tough, maybe that’s St. Louis style(?) The server/bartender was great, but he needed more help. The girl that came in to ‘help’ was mostly talking to one customer while he handled the rest of the place, bar and tables. The cheesecake was delicious!
