In the past I’d often order via their app with some regularity. I stopped doing that about a year ago when it was a 50/50 toss-up for whether or not they’d get the order correct. Multiple times ordering nachos but there’d be no chips in the bag, other times I’d order a burrito and the ingredients would simply be incorrect. Sometimes the bag would just be missing a whole item. And on plenty of occasions I’d order, drive out to retrieve it at the appropriate time, and it wouldn’t even be started. No more of that — just stopped getting food here altogether.
Decided to give it another shot, ordering in-person for takeout, very recently. What a mistake. Rolled in there at 6:15 on a night when they were closing at 7pm (probably a Sunday) with the intention of grabbing food for the family (4 people in total). Apparently 45 minutes prior to close is much too late to show up. They were clearly attempting to shut down as soon as they could — chairs up, grill broken down and being cleaned, empty serving tubs, floor being mopped, etc. Employees clearly giving off a vibe of being inconvenienced by our presence (just 2 of us — ordering to-go) and everything saying “Go away!” Yeah, we got the message.
To top it off, they were out of chicken and steak and unwilling to make any more, so I got food for only half the fam and ended up ordering from Chipotle for the remainder.
Oh yeah, and it was cash only for some reason. I almost wish I didn’t have any cash on me at the time — could’ve avoided the disappointment.
Waste of time — should have just gone to Chipotle and been done with it. Will do from now on whenever we’re in the mood for mediocre Mexican-ish food.
Food on this occasion wasn’t great either. The 2 burritos we were able to procure were fine, but the chips we got were incredibly stale and clearly cooked in rancid oil.
I don’t even blame the employees at this Qdoba for the consistently bad experience over the years. The staff has changed over time, yet the problems over the past few years seem to persist. Employees are certainly underpaid, poorly managed, and probably not well trained. Management and ownership need to get their crap together and figure out if they actually want business.
I have zero interest in a gift card, free meal, or anything like that.
