Amazing service and food. The staff seemed genuinely happy to see us and wanted our experience to be top notch. We initially went in for coffee, but the friendliness of the two servers made us want to stay for lunch.
Everything our party ordered was 5 out 5 quantity and the main entree serving sizes were substantial and the pricing was beyond fair. I would and I’m planning on coming back.
We had the southwest chicken wrap, the tenderloin, BLT, Philly Cheesesteak, and chicken strips.
If you haven’t been here yet do yourself a favor and visit this awesome eatery.

The owner, Lori, is rude and entitled. She treats her staff and her patrons like major inconveniences. The place looks great and the food is decent but the owner by herself makes it a 1 star establishment.

Great quality burgers with flavor! Food is always fresh and cooked right. Daily specials and multi drink options. Deserts are . Customer service is wonderful. Waitresses are always on top of everything and are kind! Atmosphere is uplifting and the plants add a humble touch. Tables, floors, restrooms etc. are always clean! I rate this place at 4.5 . I would have given a 5 star review but the exception is that they are hard to reach by phone. Call in orders are near impossible to achieve. Out of a dozen tries over time, we succeeded once. Other than that- the place is perfect and we will definitely return. UPDATE 08/01/2025: I have changed my rating to 5 as they definitely up’d their phone game! We call in often now and usually reach someone! They now have a pizza burger that is delish!

My honest review. We rarely get to Marshall, but when we do, we like to try different places. The outside gives a bit of a higher end restaurant, but inside is nice and open with a simplicity that makes you feel comfortable. We were immediately greeted, and right after we sat down, a waitress was already taking our drink order. Never felt rushed to order, but our waitress was never far off for when we were ready. It took about 10 minutes to get our food, and it was all fresh and hot. I’ve waited longer at McDonald’s for less quality food. I had the tenderloin sandwich with fries. Fries were very fresh and flavorful, and the tenderloin was good, but a little underseasoned for me. It wasn’t a big deal, and everyone’s taste is different. Toppings were fresh and crisp, and all in all, it was a very pleasant experience. Would recommend for anyone looking for quality comfort food at very affordable prices. I think I’ll try the prime rib sandwich next time.

ETA: There appears to be no way to reply directly to the restaurant’s response, so I will add it here. No, I did not speak to the server because I really was not interested in getting another refired frozen burger patty. I am not a fan of conflict and really hate telling people that things are bad. I do, however, appreciate that you responded to my review. So, in spite of this experience, because you responded with a sincere apology, I will give it another try sometime in the future.
Not sure who is giving 5-star reviews, but they must never have eaten real food. Or maybe they are better at dinner? Had the Monday Lunch Special (Cheeseburger.) Very disappointing. Frozen, unseasoned hamburger patty. The saving grace was that it did come with a few pickles, sliced onion, a small slice of tomato, and some lettuce, but the burger itself was yuck and served on a plain, flavorless, untoasted bun, with luke warm french fries that were at best okay. It also came with some impressively bland cole slaw that was so flavorless I couldn’t finish it even after adding salt and pepper, and a chocolate chip cookie that clearly came out of a bag. The atmosphere was clean but cafeteria-like and so loud, even with only a few other people there, that it was hard to hear the person sitting across from me. I will say that the service was good, but was unfortunately ruined by the poor quality of the food. I’m glad we tried it, but I definitely will not be a repeat customer.

I shouldn’t complain about the chicken salad, but it was a tad bland and I would have put a little salt on it but it wasn’t bad enough to bother.
I loved the atmosphere, the sweet potato fries. The owner stopped by our table to chat. That was nice.
We came from Richmond and Columbia to meet halfway. My niece from CA picked Marshall and Montagues and I’m very glad she did.

I have been to Montagues a handful of times. The employees are very kind and if you go often the owner will have conversations with you. The food is very good and a good amount for the price. It has a very rustic vibe with modern metal and glass decor around the building. If you are in the area looking for lunch I highly recommend. They also have private rooms you can rent for baby showers, birthday parties, etc. The only real catch to the private rooms is that you either have to make the food, get it from a chain retailer, or you can order catering from Montagues only. I also must mention that since most things are made in house when ordered that you can request that standard toppings and stuff included in certain things be removed. They can also split plates for an extra dollar or so.
