Kind of effusive but the only negative I really have is the drive from Woodbury. Food was Awesome! Even the beans and rice- so often meh– were so flavorful. Daughter says the carnita meat is probably the best she’s had
Salsa is great but if you can’t eat cilantro you might not agree. Will be back!

Absolutely delicious! Authentic flavors. Well worth the drive from the Twin Cities. We had the Quesabirrias and will come back for more. From the moment we tried the salsa and chips, we knew we found a great place. Our server was really friendly. Thank you!

Taken with the simple yet artistic look of the restaurant. I had Lengua street tacos. It wasn’t on the menu, but they were happy to make them. It was delicious and overflowing with meat!
The generous portion of chips and salsa were incredibly fresh. I just happened in here while on a girl’s trip along the Mississippi. It was a delight. The staff were friendly and quick to respond.

My husband and I both had burritos with hamburger, they were atleast a pound and amazing . While there we tried 3 different kinds of salsa. Each kind was made with different kinds of peppers. ElMexican was by far the best Mexican food we have had. The waiter was so helpful, offering many different sauces, flavor options.

Fantastic. We were here when they first opened several years ago and were not impressed. But now? Awesome! I don’t know what happened. We loved it. Great house chips and salsa. Very good house margaritas. Quesadilla was great. No complaints from anyone in our 6 person table!

Small Mexican restaurant in downtown Hastings. Overall the food was tasty.
We really liked the chaco tacos (mexican tacos with cheese, meat, onions and cilantro), the carne asada and the beans. Another highlight of this place are the homemade tortilla chips. Unfortunately the salsa was too spicy for us and the queso not very tasty. When we asked about the desserts they said the kitchen was already closed ( 8.15pm on a Friday night), so we could not try any.

Breakfast menu is fantastic with great selection. I highly recommend the chiliquilles. Coffee was great and loved it out of their special mugs. Service was warm and friendly and the overall menu selection offers a range of traditional Tex-mex items and a few things you typically can’t find anywhere else.

Really love this gem of a downtown restaurant. Greeted with fresh salsa and chips is always a great treat. The food was hot and fresh. Fresh tamales, chicken taquitos and taco salad were filling and tasty. Can’t wait to go back.
