Tucked away in the heart of West Hollywood, The Nice Guy is an intimate restaurant and lounge, complete with world-class culinary offerings. A step above a restaurant, but not quite a club, the venue is a cozy, reservations-only destination for h.wood friends and family. Its aesthetic evokes the decadent lore of mafia bars and restaurants, where the owners and their friends could enjoy an evening together. Whether grabbing an early dinner or mingling into the early morning hours, the space cultivates a feeling of camaraderie among its clientele, which keeps guests coming back night after night.
Comfy booths & dim lighting set the mood at this classic Italian spot with an old-school feel.

NOT FOR DATE NIGHT. 2 of the 5 indoor tables for two are NOT in the dining room. They are in a narrow hallway leading to the patio next to the bar. If you reserve a table for 2, there is a 40% chance you will be seated at a 24×24 inch high-top, too small for the food & drinks. You will be jammed against a wall and not able to even see the plush, beautiful dining room. One of your heads will be less than 2 inches from an overhanging wooden box protruding from the wall. You will have waiters and guests constantly streaming by your table on their way to the patio, leaving the bar, or operating the POS systtem just a few feet away. I had a reservation for 2 at 7:30pm on a Monday night and we arrived on time and were led to this narrow, undecorated area as it was normal. The manager said that was ‘how the restaurant was designed.” However, though it was designed with that little hallway, it was not designed for seating. The main dining room reflects how the restaurant was ‘designed,’ plush and beautiful. The person they paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to design a beautiful space didn’t say, ‘hey, for a few extra bucks, throw a couple tables in this hallway near the bar. That was a manager or owner’s decision. See photos attached. Go for the bar, go with larger groups, but NOT for parties of two. You’d be better off anywhere else.

The food was good, but I do feel like we could get better for cheaper. However you are paying for more of the atmosphere, which is successfully aiming towards the 20s – 30s year olds. I was very impressed with their music. It fit the vibe so well, VERY WELL DONE. The appetizers were super tasty though. ONE THING TO LOOK OUT FOR, they may make you pay an extra entertainment fee (aka birthday fee) even though they didn’t give us entertainment. Good service otherwise.

There’s something about The Nice Guy that doesn’t need a camera to prove it happened. The moment you step inside, you’re wrapped in that low-lit, old-Hollywood haze, the kind of energy that hums between champagne whispers and the soft clink of crystal glasses.
It’s not just a place, it’s a mood. The crowd knows the rules: no photos, no names, just moments. The music sits perfectly between nostalgic and now, and every cocktail feels like it was made for you. Smooth, confident, and just a little dangerous. If you know, you know. And if you don’t… maybe that’s the point.

Friends, I’ve lived in LA 5 years and never write reviews. TLDR save yourself some time and money and go somewhere with competent staff!
I made a reservation for my sisters bday weeks in advance and the day of we were running a bit behind. We found a parking spot 10 min after our reservation so I called and told them we’d be there in 5 min and to hold the table . So we show up like 4 min after the grace period and they say they gave away the table even though I called in advance and told them I was coming… the hostesss says there is nothing she can do Then they said we could wait at the bar in case of another cancellation. We are at the bar 15 min and the host walks over and tells us she can seat us in a couple min bc there’s been a cancellation. We are waiting like 5 min then 10 then 15. We walk over and ask about it and she says she made a mistake and had to give the table to someone else who was a canceled reservation. Like aren’t we also in that category?? so at this point we have now wasted 30 min waiting for a table that they don’t have. Then she says she can try to get us a take at Delilah- a quick google search and we are the ones letting her know it’s closed on Monday LOL the hostess at this place is super incompetent, disrespectful, and has made sure I will never spend money here! this is the kinda place that gives LA such a bad rap- there are hundreds of places to get Italian in LA, save yourself some trouble go literally anywhere else

Definitely one of my favourite LA spots when I’m in town. Book a reservation, come on time and you’ll have a great night. The food is great, a little more expensive then it should be but you’re paying for the atmosphere. We had the cherry tomato pizza, calamari, kale salad, pesto pasta and the bread pudding. The cherry tomato pizza and the bread pudding were the stars for me. The staff are attentive and quick, the atmosphere is beautiful and the live music is the cherry on top. Definitely recommend.

I just wanna say that I’ve been to a lot of places in LA and I’m such a foodie. I’m also in the industry. The nice guy has become my favorite bar in the world along with having such an amazing, friendly and welcoming staff. It is the best place in the world to me. Je’re Always takes the best care and love for us. She is the best. Along with Alex and Bridget being some of the most detail oriented & friendly bartenders I’ve ever met in my life. I will be coming here many more times. If I could come seven days a week I would. If the nice guy isn’t on your list to go to, You better put it on it.

1 star because the place is aesthetically pleasing. We came here for drinks before a show at the Largo. The bartender wasn’t particularly friendly and we were charged 65 dollars for two cocktails! A margarita and a side car! They added additional charges for changing the tequila to mezcal and making another drink that i guess wasn’t one the menu. We were never told that they were going to charge us anything additional much less basically an additional 20 dollars to our bill. Honestly, don’t waste your time coming here or believing the hype. There are way better restaurants with better food and better service that aren’t this pricey. And yeah, i have eaten here before. The food is….fine. They keep getting 1 star reviews and yet nothing gets better.

This place is a vibe. They serve amazing food and have a great selection of drinks. We ordered the chicken parm and rigatoni vodka. Both were delicious. They have valet and street metered parking. It’s dimly lit, so be aware of having to bring the menu close to your face. They also have live music on Saturdays.

We came all the way from London and booked The Nice Guy well in advance for a party of four, only to be treated with complete disregard. From the moment we arrived, the staff were dismissive and uninterested, telling us to wait at the bar and then completely ignoring us. After more than half an hour of waiting, we watched two parties who arrived after us get seated (including a couple who were given a four-person table that would have been perfect for us).
It was a frustrating and frankly embarrassing experience. The service felt elitist, pretentious, and entirely lacking in basic hospitality. For a place trading on exclusivity, they seem to have forgotten the fundamentals of customer service. The name “Nice Guy” couldn’t be more misleading.

This place should be removed from open table or any visa signature collections. They charge you 25$/person as a penalty for a NO Show and give a 15minute grace period.
I arrived with my disabled father and my mother’s 68th birthday. I had the option to go to Elephante and made the mistake of giving this establishment a try.
The front wait staff “offered my father a chair and I followed up. . As my father’s leg went numb as he has L3 Fracture. They still failed to deliver a chair after 45min and brush my father’s disability.”
I spoke to the manager and she still could not give us a estimated sitdown time after 50 minutes.
This establishment chooses bad practice and overbooking to create artificial business.
I flew out from Sacramento to celebrate my mother’s birthday.
This place intentially overbooks and pushes guests to the “BAR” for 2 hours. Then will kick you out the second you pay the tab.
They also charge you an entainment FEE of 11$. They also charge for Special occasions like birthday.
