Our server, Kristi, truly made the experience exceptional. She was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable without ever being intrusive. You can tell when someone genuinely loves what they do, and it shows her service elevated the entire meal.
The food was outstanding. The egg croissant was rich, perfectly cooked, and indulgent in the best way, while the calamari was light, crispy, and expertly seasoned absolutely addictive. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared.
The cocktails were just as impressive. The French 75 was crisp, balanced, and refreshing, and the espresso martini was smooth, bold, and beautifully crafted easily one of the best I’ve had.
Between the stunning river views, incredible food and drinks, and top-tier service from Kristi, this place delivers on every level. If you’re looking for an unforgettable brunch or dining experience in Miami, House on the River is a must.
The open bar was great as we got some drinks as we mingled with colleagues and catch up with others we didn’t don’t see as often. This was like a family style when they brought out the appetizers and the entrées and the desserts where everybody can grab and serve themselves, which was a great option because everybody was able to serve themselves how much they wanted.
We had the outside seating and it was truly magical how beautiful they decorated the tables. The waterfront seating was perfect since the weather was so nice. The atmosphere is very relaxed very tranquil. The service was amazing. Everybody was so professional and courteous, and attended to everyone.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for company, corporate events or just a simple dinner with friends, family, or on a date.
We were seated in the Porch Swing Room, which to our absolute delight, turned out to be a private room just for the two of us. It created such an intimate and unique atmosphere for our dinner.
The hospitality here is consistently top-notch. The entire staff is incredible, but a huge shout-out goes to our server, Dylan, who provided flawless service throughout the night. To top off a perfect evening, the manager (Scott, if I recall correctly) took the time to give us a personal tour of the historic house. It was a thoughtful gesture that we very much appreciated.
If you are looking for a memorable night out with “above and beyond” service, this is the place. We’re already looking forward to visit number four!
When you only have 1 day in Fort Lauderdale to Brunch, The House on The River is where it’s at. Our server Rudy was fabulous. The Bartender crafted perhaps one of the best alcohol forward “smoked” Old Fashioned I’ve ever had.
The Brunch Board was where it was at on this day. It was $30 per person & totally worth it. There was plenty of food for 2. It is a good way to go really to not devote your Brunch to one main entree.
In the Fort Lauderdale climate even in February dining outside was great & suggested. The grounds & inside are nicely landscaped & decorated.
This is a restored historic building in a nice scenic location sitting on the New River. If you’re interested in events, bridal showers, et al, they’ve got you covered. On this day, a bridal shower took place & everyone was happy. The Brunch Boards were perfect for such a large group.
If you have the pleasure to dine outside, make sure you take a stroll through the inside & check out the Pastry Shop. I believe this set up is a business within the business called the La Rivere Bakery. All the selections were handmade by this lovely lady who was rightfully proud of her creations & very thoughtful in her presentation & display of the same. I only made it through a small portion of the property. There’s a lot more to discover.
The parking situation for the businesses around this location is a bit of a challenge so give yourself plenty of time.
