My shrimp bowl at red hibachi was delicious! One of the best seasoned/tasting bowls I’ve had! Love the variety of sauces offered, especially the spicy mustard. The staff was very friendly and had great recommendations on what to order. Great spot for a quick, healthy, delicious lunch. Will return!

I made my way to the Manchester area of Richmond, VA to tear up some hibachi at the Black owned Red Hibachi & Beer!
When I walked in they were playing the good R&B classics so I already knew it was about to go down! That playlist was everything! They have a small area to eat in or you can get it to go. I decided to eat in so I can get my American Idol on haha!
All of the hibachi entrees come with your choice of rice or noodles and one or two proteins and veggies. I had the steak & shrimp with fried rice, chicken with white rice and shrimp with noodles. I had shrimp and veggie spring rolls as well. It came out hot and fresh with a plethora of all the delicious sauces. The wasabi aioli was my favorite! Everything that graced my palate was delicious! The steak was nice and tender, the chicken was so moist and the shrimp were nice and plump! The veggies were perfectly cooked as well. The fried rice was bursting with eggs and lots of flavor! The noodles complimented the shrimp and veggies well. I can’t say enough how good this hibachi was y’all! I washed it all down with a cold canned adult beverage! My stomach was pleased!

I will certainly come back and update this review after another visit. I actually love this place and highly recommend it to anyone who has a taste for hibachi in Richmond, but my most recent experience was not true to previous experiences.
Most recently, my shrimp and steak plate had diced onions spread overtop of my meal. This was unusual and completely threw me off. The steak was overcooked and the rice was undercooked. I was so disappointed. Typically, this meal speaks to my soul, but this time around somebody butchered the standard operating procedure. Never have I ever had diced onions in a hibachi meal. Please correct this. This place is fire on its good days!

I really like this place and think it has so much potential. But I have to say the inconsistency in the food is starting to show, and it really comes down to who’s cooking on any given day. Sometimes the fried rice is perfect, and other times it’s mushy. Sometimes the chicken is perfectly seasoned, other times it’s really bland. When it’s good, it’s truly amazing and it’s one of the best hibachi to-go spots in Richmond. But these last couple of times, it’s been a letdown.
I’m leaving this review because I really want to see the place succeed and step it up a notch with more consistent training for the cooks. It’s got the potential to be a standout spot if the quality becomes more reliable. Right now, if they keep pushing out inconsistent dishes, they risk just blending into the background like any other place. I’m rooting for them to get it right!

I ordered steak fried rice with a fried egg and extra side of veggies…I get home the order I was given was chicken no egg and the chicken was so dark I can tell it was saturated in soy sauce…& I was right this food was not good at all! Now ima show some mercy because it was just one guy working and he looked overwhelmed. He did say he is a prepper and not a cook so that probably explains why the food tasted the way it did idk but I have that I spent $24.99 and didn’t get my steak and my order was wrong and not good!

Shout out to shordy who made the food.. She was cool. The food itself and the price point. It’s a no for me. I order the shrimp fried rice. Eggs do not come with it. And they didn’t have options for noddles. I believe I had teriyaki sauce on top.. it was a little too sweet for my liking. The portion size is crazy small. The rice wasn’t even filled to the top. You would have thought it was lunch time. I order like at 7 something. So I’m expecting dinner size.I would love to support on the regular. But I can’t with the price point and portion size. Oh yeah the food did look good tho..When they can tweak that, I’ll be in there more often.

Stopped in to check out the new spot and they definitely won a customer. Service was great as soon as I walked in with them showing me where to order. While I was waiting the staff had good energy and the food was done fast. Food was great I had the steak and shrimp hibachi and the young lady at the counter got me to try some other sauces and they all were good. She was def the star of the show! Couldn’t even finish my food because I let my daughter taste it and I didn’t get it back . Great job Red Hibachi!!

I popped into this restaurant because I had heard amazing things and I love to support black owned business. If you love all kinds of Asian cuisines and have had them, then this restaurant will disappoint. I 100% say give it a chance. I got a chicken fried rice bowl with spring rolls and s strawberry lemonade. My fried rice was hard and chewy. The chicken tasted like the kind you get in the mall and the vegetables were fine. The springs rolls were not tasteful and greasy. IDK if they were homemade. They tasted like PF Changs frozen to ready spring rolls you get at the grocery store. The strawberry lemonade was pretty good. Winner there but it was almost $5, soooo.The yum yum sauce tasted like big mac sauce as well. Maybe this place was top tier 10/10 when they opened but right now I give them a 5/10. They also didn’t have any seating. No ambience. I probably won’t go back but definitely give it a shot.

When I first walked in it smelled funny, I should have walked out then. The drink machine only had one working sofa which was a kind I didn’t like no refund was offered which is not a big deal. But once the food came the vegetables seemed old it wasn’t a lot of shrimp and the flavor of the food wasn’t good. Overall I would not recommend anyone to try this place.
