Capa Restaurant, Copenhagen, Denmark – Wanderlog

The beef tartar appetizer was good including great goose liver and I liked the angel hair potatoes at the base. The butter steak is a bit hyped in my opinion.

What can I say ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The waiter was brilliant and attentive couldn’t have done more. The food was second to none and very well presented. The selection of Whisky was unbelievable for a whisky fan and the wine’s were amazing. The attention to detail and the atmosphere were absolutely brilliant. What a place!!

One of the best food experiences I’ve had in Copenhagen. The waiters really stood out with their very friendly and customer-oriented approach. Atmosphere is classy without being snobbish.

We had dinner here with the November deal menu, and it was really good. At first, the portions felt small, even though everything was very tasty. But in the end, you leave feeling satisfied, both in your stomach and your palate.

The ham canapé was very good. The salmon had an interesting taste. The artichokes were nice, and the sauce made a big difference. The chocolate beef with risotto was interesting too. It was my first time trying chocolate beef. I didn’t fully taste the chocolate in the meat, but it was very tender, and the risotto was excellent. I would make that portion a bit bigger.

The butter steak was the dish I was most excited about, and it was really good. Very tender and soft, and the portion was generous. It did arrive a bit colder than expected, and the grill flavour was a little weak. The béarnaise was great, though. I would suggest serving one salad and one portion of fries per person, and not two to share among three people. And finally, the dessert was a nice finishing touch. The yuzu ice cream broke the sweetness from the rest.

The service was friendly and good. They seemed a bit stressed, but the restaurant was very busy, which may also explain why some dishes took longer.

Overall, the November deal is worth it for the quality, quantity, and price. I’m curious to try it again, maybe à la carte, and go for the other big steak options.

Our waiter was nothing short of a cartoon human octopus. He was so on top of everything, it was like nothing we’d ever seen. We spent a good 20 minutes hoping he makes enough money to make his effort worth it.

The food was great. The steaks were just right and flavorful. The dessert was a bit bland.

An Unforgettable Dinner at Restaurant Capa, Copenhagen

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Capa in Copenhagen, and it was an unforgettable evening from start to finish.
Although I was traveling alone on business, I felt at home from the very first moment.
The restaurant was fully booked, yet the staff welcomed me with genuine warmth and made me feel truly cared for.
The cozy ambiance and friendly smiles immediately helped me relax.

The service was exceptional.
Every member of the team I encountered was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional.
I’d especially like to highlight my server, Thea.
From the first moment, she went out of her way to make me feel like I wasn’t dining alone. She was not only wonderfully kind but also highly competent and professional in her service.

Thea and her colleagues took the time to explain each course of the menu in detail, ensuring I understood every dish on my plate a personal touch that made the entire experience so special.
During a brief quiet moment, she even paused to chat with me, which is rare to find in fine dining these days.

It truly felt like dining with friends.

A big thank you goes to the entire team and the management of Capa. Their coordination was flawless — the whole crew worked in perfect harmony. I noticed how smoothly everyone collaborated to keep things running effortlessly in the busy restaurant.
It was clear that management has done an excellent job building a well-synced team; everyone radiated the same warmth and hospitality.

Thanks to this wonderful teamwork, every guest seemed to feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout the evening.

Now, about the food: I chose the five-course tasting menu, and wow what a culinary journey it was. Each course offered a perfectly balanced combination of flavors a true explosion for the taste buds.
The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were bold yet harmoniously composed.
With each course, Thea and her colleagues explained what I was about to enjoy, making the meal not only delicious but also engaging and informative.

The highlight of the evening for me was the original CAPA butter steak. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the pepper sauce which deserves more than to be called just a sauce was absolutely phenomenal.
Rich, creamy, and with just the right amount of spice, it elevated the tender beef with every bite. I’m still thinking about that incredible sauce!

Equally impressive was the wine pairing. Thea guided me expertly through the wine list and recommended the perfect matches.

Even though I was dining alone, I never once felt lonely. Thanks to Thea and the rest of the Capa team, I felt welcome and well looked after the entire evening.
The experience felt very personal and sincerely warm like dining at home in the best company.

In summary, my evening at Restaurant Capa was simply wonderful. Every detail was just right — from the warm welcome to the flawless service, from the exquisite food to the thoughtful wine pairings.

I’m giving Capa a heartfelt 5-star rating and will recommend it to anyone visiting Copenhagen.

Thank you, Thea, the entire staff, and the management for a perfect and unforgettable dinner.

Fundamentally unserious steakhouse. Most of the food was cold and just not very good. Potato purée was overcooked and butter/fat was separating from the potatoes (as you can see from photo). Not sure how this place is considered one of the best in the world. The only thing world class about this was the price. I would discourage anyone from dining here based on our experience. Environment felt like where a 14 year old in America would go on a first date. I’d recommend Gasoline Grill for a very good burger if you want something delicious or Marchal if you really want a treat. (At Marchal the duck is excellent and the steak is better than Capa too)

I had a nice dinner including 2 glasses of wine for DK 1185. The beef tartar appetizer was good including great goose liver and I liked the angel hair potatoes at the base. The butter steak is a bit hyped in my opinion. It was excellent, came in my top 5 of steaks, but I guess I had hoped it would be a clear number 1. Something went wrong with my fries. Clearly the cook who prepared them was not motivated to serve the customers good food. See pictures. They were also too salty. The chef did not check this before they went out, even though visually you could already see this was not up to the pricey standards of the restaurant. The waiter also had no problem to put them on my table. Then I had 2 options: complain and get a new serving which would probably arrive by the time the steak was almost finished or scrape off the excess salt and cut off the bad pieces. I chose for the last option. All the time I was scraping the salt and cutting the fries, and my side plate was filling up, the waiter did not come and asked if everything was OK. I sent the remains back to the kitchen and the restaurant offered me a free coffee, which was good compensation. I hope both kitchen staff and waiters have learned to improve from this incident.
