Welcome to 9 Thai, a restaurant and takeaway based in Newtown, Powys. Here at 9 Thai our food is inspired by Thailand and Asia. We are constantly looking to innovate our dishes whilst offering several Asian and Thai classics. We stock a selected range of beer, cider, wine and spirits plus a wide range of artisan soft drinks including fiery ginger beer and wild elderflower presse. Please be aware that the kitchen will close 30 minutes before listed closing time

The young lady is very friendly and accommodating, nothing seems too much trouble.
The food is amazing, the best in town. Very fresh and bursting with incredible flavour.
I love spicy food and I’d say the spice is at a perfect level. Not too spicy.
Nice music playing in the background, and very relaxing place to eat.
They now have a selection of beers to drink which were delicious.
I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants fresh delicious, different food.

I will start by saying the two curries and rice were delicious and service was absolutely lovely.
The only slight disappointment was the chicken thigh used in the satay skewers, they were rubbery and tasted cheap – breast would be a much better option in my opinion.
Other than that, absolutely wonderful and will return again!

I recently dined at 9Thai and found it to be a delightful experience. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with each dish featuring a variety of wonderful flavours, offering great value for money. The atmosphere was relaxing, with charming décor. The waitress was exceptionally polite, adding to the warm and welcoming environment. I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely delicious meal @ 9Thai. We didn’t book and when we arrived the place was packed, but the lady told us to come back in an hour. Returning we were seated and our order was taken straight away. The food was fantastic. I highly recommend. Well done to this family business, where they were clearly working their socks off!
