Would have gotten 5 star if the service was better. Took 45 minutes to get a drink and another 45 for food but once it came it was presented very beautifully and tasted super yummy. I had shrimp and grits added crab and Mac n cheese both bomb! I also tasted the cornbread which it amazing. Everything was very delicious and the drinks were good. I felt like it made up for the long wait. The owner/ chef came out and explained they were short on staff that day which it happens but all good . Will visit again soon

First time customer!!! Me and hubby visited for our 11 year anniversary and we had an amazing time. The food was amazing & well seasoned, j had the lamp chops with rice and string beans and hubby had the chicken Alfredo. We were pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed the food. This is our new hang out spot. Bartender makes amazing drinks and the staff and owner are very personable and pleasant.

We decided to visit on a Friday evening right before 8 pm. Apparently Friday nights are reserved for DJ Karl with a K, we didn’t know the treat we were in for. We were greeted immediately by the hostess Tia, who actually became our server as well and was fabulous by the way. While the music was loud, it was enjoyable…..the people dancing at their tables was proof the DJ was doing his job. Now let’s talk about this food. We began with the crab eggrolls, they were ok. They come with four pieces per order and a sweet chili sauce, which I think a romalaude would better compliment the eggrolls, but overall they were ok for $18. For our mains I ordered the catch of the day which was a choice of catfish or whiting, I chose catfish, fried of course and it came with two sides so, I got cabbage and macaroni and cheese. He chose the fish and chips which came with 3 pieces of whiting and handcut fries. Overall our meals were good, I kind of wished my fish was fried a little harder, but I know to make the request next time. The portion of my meal was so much that I ended up taking half of it home and it was affordable at $22 and there was nothing left of the fish and chips with another affordable pricetag of $18. We also had two drinks a piece. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely return. Parking is plentiful and free. It seems like they have themed nights almost nightly and I’m excited to try other nights, like karaoke. If you’re in the area, drop in you won’t be disappointed!

It was date night & we tasted a little of everything. Steak so big couldn’t even finish it. The drinks was good & the atmosphere is relaxing. Babe even got to enjoy the games on the tvs. Going to come back for the daily events…

I went for a birthday lunch with my family. We all had the bacon and cheese smash burgers. Double meat with all the toppings. We also had the mozzarella bites and the shrimp bites. Everything was delicious. The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, but has plenty of televisions if you want to watch sports. The cocktails were on point! We plan on going back for one of the theme nights. I highly recommend this establishment!

Today was supposed to be a vibe. Our family switched up plans last minute, hoping for a brunch spot with great ambience—and of course, we wanted to support a Black-owned business. My wife found 9Five Kitchen & Bar through a phenomenal Instagram ad that had us excited to try something new.
We arrived just before brunch ended and were seated around 3PM. Brunch was over (understandable), but our server Lay was warm, professional, and truly a highlight of the experience—10/10 for her service.
Now, the food… this is where things got rocky.
We ordered cheesesteak eggrolls, crabcake eggrolls, honey Old Bay wings, and seafood pasta with a side of salmon, Caesar salad and a few other items After nearly two hours, the crabcake eggrolls never came. My seafood pasta arrived after my family had finished eating because the chef made the order wrong—and without the side salmon I ordered. At that point, we had to wrap things up and leave.
Here’s my honest breakdown:
• Seafood pasta: 5/10 (missing items, arrived late)
• Salmon (wife’s order): 8/10
• Brussels sprouts: 10/10 (the star of the meal!)
• Honey Old Bay wings: 8/10
• Cheesesteak eggrolls: 7/10
• Honey mustard sauce: 2/10 (needs a serious revamp)
• Fries: 1/10 (tasted like old grease)
Ambience was bland—felt more like a lounge waiting room in a church than a brunch spot.
Wait time 2/10
Price point 2/10.

Celebrated my belated 60th birthday by having brunch. We had 12 people in my party. The atmosphere was alive with good energy. The music had my entire table dancing and singing. The food was amazing. The skillet cornbread, deviled eggs, grits, drinks and pasta were all superb. Hats off to Chef Bobby. Will definitely be back.

This is a tiny place attached to the hotel. The dining room and bar have a dividing wall with windows and the dining room had 2 parties going on on a Friday night. I did almost leave as it states right up front at the door it is stated a mandatory 18% gratuity is charged. There was not any additional left because of this.
The food was delicious! The crab artichoke dip was perfect just needed a few more pitas to finish it.
The fish and chips stood up alone without vinegar or tarter. The shrimp and grits were a 10! The grits were creamy hot and with some bite. The bar drinks were okay but not that great. Very low ingredients compared to the food dishes.
Having to shout to be heard was the reason for the atmosphere rating. Having the appetizer arrive with the main dishes always is a ding on service and ordering.
Definitely a good choice for friday night meal.

Yesterday was truly a special day for me and my fiancé as we celebrated our engagement at 9Five kitchen and bar. I would just like to say this was one of the BEST experiences we had from any other establishment. From the food, service, decorations, and overall atmosphere it was 100/10. If anyone needs a place to celebrate, hang or eat 9five would definitely be up there on the list!
