Reviews
We had their Shahi paneer, Daal Tadka and Naan. Everything was freshly prepared and you would experience homely flavors in each bite. It’s a It’s a small place right off the highway so don’t be thrown off by how simple the place looks place right off the highway- simple, clean and doesn’t have a lot of space for dine-in but accommodates a few tables.
Highly recommend this place.
What stood out the most was the hospitality. The owner and staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the service felt genuine, not forced. We were honestly unsure about driving almost 50 miles just for dinner, but after eating here, we knew it was completely worth it.
We tried a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and everything was delicious. The food tasted like it was cooked at home — no artificial coloring, no heavy oil or grease. The non-veg dishes were especially impressive: well-cooked, tender, and full of flavor, not dry at all. You could tell everything was freshly made.
We ended up chatting with the owner, who shared that all the food is prepared fresh, including their in-house masalas. The chef has over 40 years of experience, and it really shows in the taste and quality. They cook veg and non-veg items separately.
This is easily a place I’d recommend to anyone looking for authentic Punjabi food. We’ll definitely be stopping here again whenever we’re passing through Highway 90.
Limited seating, open till late on weekdays.
Was looking for an early dinner and expecting to settle for Taco Bell on a holiday, but noticed this was open and decided to give it a shot.
It’s a very sweet family run dhaba at a rest stop on the way to Sequoia national park. Nice service and atmosphere with a cool whiteboard mural about the history of Traver. Bonus kurtas and Indian snacks at the store if you want.
But the food. Oh my god. We ordered a homemade chicken curry, tawa roti, amritsari kulcha, samosa chat and a mango masala soda. It all came out reasonably fast.
The mango masala soda was mildly sweet and refreshing, and hit the spot on a hot summer day.
Then we tried the samosa chat, and it was beautiful. By far the best I’ve had in North America. Then the kulcha chole came out, and I don’t know what to say, they’re magicians with chickpeas. The kulcha came topped with generous amounts of white butter.
I ordered the chicken curry and roti because I was feeling a little queasy from eating pizza for breakfast, and I felt great after eating it. The roti was soft warm and topped with ghee. The curry was light and fresh with cilantro mixed in, and was definitely made with ghee instead of oil – the home style label is completely true. The pieces to curry ratio was generous and I ordered more roti to go for later. We felt full but not weighed down.
Fyi, spicy here is an Indian medium.
This already feels like the best part of our trip and I’m excited to eat here again on the way back hehe.
We were at Sequoia and wanted to eat some Indian food and came across this place on Google Maps.
This hit all the spots. It was soo delicious and the owner of the place was extremely sweet too. Apparently his mum cooks the food.
The food was delicious. The biryani was super tasty and the Malai Kofta was just out of this world. It is one of the best malai koftas I’ve had. Definitely recommend this.
The roti was so soft and nice too
I forgot to take a picture before I started eating because we were so hungry and also the food was so tasty.
Definitely try this place and eat here, take food from here, everything. It’s worth it.
We highly recommend this to anyone.
We were also told that the owner’s mother prepared the food. She is simply amazing
Highly recommended
