Nice retro atmosphere . .
Friendly service!
Good, home style food!
I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. It came with perfectly cooked green beans, pasta and super fresh salad w/blue cheese dressing on the side.
I got a brownie to go and had a piece of excellent Banana Cream Pie!
Yum yum yum!
I was honestly torn on what to order because everything sounded good. I’ve always loved a good pot pie, though, so I decided to go with that. Let me just say I used to think the best pot pie I’d had was from KFC, and this one completely blew it out of the water. It was hot, flavorful, and just felt homemade in the best way.
Our drinks were kept filled the entire time without us having to ask, my husband’s breakfast was cooked perfectly, and she checked on us just enough to make sure we were happy without hovering. That balance is hard to find, and she nailed it.
We’ll definitely be back. It was just a really lovely evening all around.
Will be back soon! Definately worth the drive off the interstate for dining options in a cozy little town.
We went to the 99 Grill for lunch last Sunday, which was disappointing given that we’ve generally had good experiences here in the past. Unfortunately, this visit stood out for how poor the service was.
Our waitress, Lani, seemed far more preoccupied with socializing at other tables and adjusting her poorly applied glue-on eyelashes than attending to her section. Frankly, the lashes were distracting enough that it was hard not to notice and if she insists on wearing them at work, she should consider having them done professionally.
We were largely ignored throughout the meal. Our drinks were never refilled, and our food sat under the heat lamp long enough to affect the quality. When it finally arrived, the fries were cold and my burger bun was soggy. She disappeared for over 15 minutes at one point, never checked back after dropping off the food, and didn’t even cash us out. The hostess had to step in, and she was the only bright spot in the experience.
The waitress was also repeatedly sniffing, which was uncomfortable and made us question whether she should have been working around food.
The food itself is usually good, which only makes the service failure more noticeable. If you value basic attentiveness, I’d recommend avoiding her section, especially on Sundays.
The ladies working were friendly and fun. The food was so good that folks were happily waiting in the parking lot to get a table.
I would definitely stop again
