98 Mill – A quiet, cozy getaway in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom for many things; dinner or drink after work; a place you can take your kids and still have a wonderful meal for yourself; the perfect setting for an elaborate business dinner or carry out. Combining the freshest ingredients to capture an authentic Italian taste and classic bar and grill food. A full-service bar and extensive wine list all in a family-friendly environment. Our dinner service is from 4pm to 9pm Thursday to Monday. We offer lunch at 11am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. First-come, first-served dining policy. Call ahead if you plan to dine with more than 8.

A full house on all counts from me. I can highly recommend the prawn & sweetcorn chowder, lobster ravioli in garlic sauce & shrimp & escalope with truffle fries. Sorry, no room for dessert. Good ales and wine. Great service from our server Taylor. Reasonable prices for great food! Easy parking. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic food with dog friendly outdoor river-view seating. I’ve eaten here a bunch of times and keep coming back. The one HUGE negative: they only have one bathroom and there can easily be a 20 minute line for it. Insane. Ridiculous.

Very cool renovated turn of the century mill with great Italian food + American lunch classics, like burgers and fried chicken sandwiches. I believe all of the food is made from scratch. The outside patio could use some candels or lanterns for ambiance. I will change my review to 5 stars once they switch to Heinz ketchup. Definitely coming back.

01/16/2026: I’ve been here several times since 2024 and I think the food is solidly good, it’s tasty, they have a separate gluten free frier, they offer delicious gluten free pasta and burger buns and sandwiches. Tonight I had steak with a very fresh pesto with a fancy name, it was delicious, my cousin had the scallops and shrimp and I wished I had gotten it, it looked delicious, her husband got this amazing dish that he always gets, steak gorgonzola pasta and my husband got a double burger. They also have delicious sides fantastic fries, fresh crunchy side salad … You really can’t go wrong and the atmosphere is cool, old mill equipment hanging from the ceiling, Warner weather you can eat outside on the water …

Delicious food: amazing burger and I was able to get gluten free risotto as a side but they even have a separate gluten free fryer so I could have gotten French fries and several other fried foods … My husband got the steak which was delicious, my cousin got the haddock and she loved it …
Excellent atmosphere; beautiful old mill building with several of the old mill workings in place, and beams, really great except there are big screen TVs, but it’s really nice.
There’s a beautiful outside sitting area that I look forward to sitting at on a warmer day.
There was live music which was very enjoyable and not so loud that you can’t talk.
Our server was so nice and attentive, really great!
We had a wonderful time and I’m looking forward to going again!

Really good looking place – but probably the worst service and communication I’ve seen at a restaurant. Upon arriving was told by the hostess we couldn’t order food or sit at a table… a bit odd to say the least when walking into a restaurant. That was then changed to food would just take longer than usual and we can sit at the bar… OK fine. Took a long time to get drinks and still no one took our food order. While sitting there waiting, saw many people be seated at tables and order food who were there much after us. After having one drink and waiting longer, we still haven’t been able to order food. We gave up and left. Quite disappointed as the place and menu looked great. Would love to say it’s because they were crazy busy – but they weren’t- maybe under staffed that night I suppose. Truly an odd restaurant experience overall.

This is the second time I’ve ever been here. The first time was about a year ago, maybe more. The food then was great! I cannot say the same for this time around. We got fried pickles and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. The pickles were great! The mushrooms were undercooked and filled with a basic ricotta cheese. For my entree I got the lone star double stack, it wasn’t terrible. But there wasn’t a lot of flavor and the fries tasted old! For my s/o entree, he got the mill street bavette steak and was highly dissatisfied. The meat was highly undercooked, the brussel sprouts were highly overcooked and the fries once again were not fresh at all! If it weren’t for our great server, Addy, this would be getting a one star review. We hope that if we decide to return one day that the food will be exceptionally better

We’ve given 98 mill a few tries over the past year. 1st time was good, after that it has gone down hill . I like to give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt, because I understand everyone has an off day. We will definitely not be back here again though. If you want to charge high end prices for food, it should be good.
I hate to say it, but think you might be better off going to subway. And I dont like subway. Save yourself a few buck anyways and probably get same quality of food as 98mill.

I was excited to come to this place- worried it might be a bit busy because it was New Years Day, but when we walked by the window, half the tables were empty and people were sitting at the bar but no one had food. We walked in and the hostess asked if we were hoping to order food. We said yes, and she said it would be about 15 minutes before we could order. We were fine with that, but then she said we couldn’t sit at a table and we couldn’t order food at the bar. The encounter certainly made us feel unwelcome. We sat down at the bar and it took us about 10 minutes to order drinks, and at that time I asked the bartender if we could order food. She said she’d see what she could do. We waited another 15 minutes and no one came over to us to reseat us or take our order. Other people were seated during that time and their orders were taken. We left after our drink and were disappointed to say the least!

We happened to be town and wanted to try a restaurant we haven’t been to before. Let me preface all of this by saying our waitress was extremely sweet and we loved her. Older lady , very kind and attentive. The food was goodish. What I didn’t like though was being surrounded by drain flies the entire time we were eating. The bartender on duty was less than friendly to us. She slapped our menus on the table and when I said thank you she replied with a quick “yup” and went back behind the bar. Older woman with long black hair. She seemed a bit busy on her phone during the time we were there and chatting up a younger couple. We were also charged 10 extra dollars for 2 very small pieces of steak on a meal. Overall we probably will not return. I think maybe some cleaning needs to be done during their “slower” hours.

Saturday night around 8pm, no wait and one of the best parts of the night was the hostess told us there was live music and then asked if we wanted a quieter seat in the back room or to sit in the main room with the music. This was a great way to start as I’m not a fan of live music with dinner and I was visiting family I hadn’t seen in a while and wanted to talk without having to yell.
Anyways, service was very good, quick and attentive. I enjoyed my burger and fries. I thought the prices were reasonable.
I would go back if I was in the area again.
