9 One One Tavern/Johnny’s Jazz Kitchen is a great addition to the otherwise lackluster Richmond food scene. We ordered the etoufee, Jambalaya, gumbo and chili dogs and everything was delicious.
Solomon (the head chef) really knows his Creole food and clearly takes great pride in his work.

Perfect place to get some amazing down home cooking. All fresh foods nothing frozen or processed. Great cozy atmosphere with great friendly, respectful, smiling employees. The bar tender Jodie is amazing!! Such a great personality. The owner happened to be there and he told us how the bar got started. It is New Orleans themed and very fun. The food (Jambalaya & Gumbo & lots of yummy other stuff) was fabulous!!! Don’t let the area near the bar fool you! There are lots of things in the works for the near future and it is all good!! When you go, plan to stay awhile. It will be worth it!
