We’re a family of four on a Spring Break road trip, and we stopped by the 86 Cafe for a late lunch. The Chimichangas and Taco Salad were fresh and delicious, but what truly made the visit memorable was the warm welcome and outstanding service from Amanda. We also enjoyed chatting with some friendly locals who shared great tips on nearby attractions. A wonderful small-town stop with great food and even better hospitality!

The food is great. Atmosphere is very dated and old, but it was kinda charming. We had the flautas and steak ranchero, both were well seasoned and hot. The salsa was amazing. Service was courteous. Definitely try this hole in the wall if you are near Benson.

Very friendly staff, great customer service. Ordered the shredded beef chimi. Beef was tender and moist, would recommend salsa with it for a touch more flavor. Rice was very good. Generous portions. Reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!

The two stars are for the quality of the food. It was all-u- can eat fish on Friday. We ordered the battered fish and it was so tough/overcooked it was hard to eat. The cole slaw had no flavor. Service was so so. The price was right if the food was good. I probably won’t go back as there are other choices in Benson.

Delimex served lukewarm is how I would best describe my meal. We were hungry on the way to Tucson and on Monday there are a lot of closed restaurants in Benson. We thought we wound give this a shot. I ordered taquitos and it comes with 2 chicken and 2 beef. They looked like the frozen ones I ate in college. I was hoping for something handmade, not that I can buy from the Walmart freezer section. The sad thing is I could not tell the difference between the chicken and the beef. Mystery meat in both. The rice was lukewarm and beans were cold. So cold the cheese on top wasn’t melted.
My Hubbie got a taco and it was cold. He picked it up and the bottom fell out. He also ordered a quesadilla and stated that was good.
Our server was efficient, but not personable at all. She literally walked over and said “what do you want.” But our order was correct and prompt.
The cafe was cute for a small town cafe and was comfortable enough.
Lastly, as usual, I’m going to rate the bathroom. It was old and needed revamping horribly, but it was clean.
It all filled the hole in our stomachs but we will never come back. It was pretty gross.

Delicious! I know it’s not really that late, but it was only an hour until closing and the cafe let me right in, no questions asked. After struggling with an hour delay on my trip to Texas from Arizona, this was a breath of fresh air! The food was great; reminiscent of what you would expect from your Abuelitos kitchen!
I ordered a smothered beef burrito with salsa verde and rice and beans. Everything was very well balanced in flavor. The table salsa had the perfect kick. I wanted to gobble the whole burrito down but I had 3 more hours on my trip to go, so the hostess sent me on my way with a to go box and a final cup of coffee!
I will definitely be back!

Great food and fantastic service! If you are not from the area, the restaurant is a little tricky to find, but it is definitely worth finding it! I have never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend!
