I went here in July before the new management took over. We bought lots of pastries, such as the Coconut Twist, Boroh Cream Danish, and Pork Sung Bun, and they were all tasty. It felt just like other 85°C Bakeries I’ve been to. We also got drinks, including the Mango Slush and Yuzu Lavender Bubbly, which were refreshing. I haven’t had a chance to visit since the new management, but it sounds like it may not be as worth the visit anymore.

This used to be a great bakery and was fully on par with other 85°C locations when it first opened. Unfortunately, ever since new management took over, this location has decided that success is optional. The selection has shrunk to the point where it feels like a pop-up bakery rather than an 85°C. Shelves are empty, options are limited and availability is a constant mystery.

The hours are… a choice. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with shortened hours the rest of the week. During the holidays, I watched multiple customers walk up, check the door, and leave disappointed. Bold strategy. Missed opportunity.

As for drinks, don’t get your hopes up. They somehow keep running out of boba. At a boba bakery. ‍♀️ Their coffee is nice and strong though

On the bright side, the workers themselves were nice and friendly, but you could clearly tell they were overworked and stretched thin, which again points back to management issues.

Easily the worst 85°C Bakery I’ve been to. That really hurts to say because we were so excited when they first opened. If you’re looking for the experience this place used to offer, this isn’t it anymore.

First time I tried 85 degrees was in Dallas a few years ago and I loved it. I was in San Diego over the summer and had 85 degrees there and also loved it. So I was happy to see one here. I do love that the pastry is a lot cheaper. What I don’t like is how the pastrys are being packaged. They were not sealed, all opened which means people could possibly be touching all over it. I think they could do a lot better with the packaging. Other than that, I did enjoy the varieties they had. The drinks we had was good.

Stopped by since my kiddo loves bakeries. There were plenty of staff, but no one really greeted us or said much while we looked around. The guy at checkout was nice, though. Everything seemed fresh—they were even bringing out warm bread while we were there. I liked that most items had the ingredients listed, and the prices were pretty reasonable. I didn’t try any beverages, but maybe will try those too if we return. I’d give it another try.

Been to so many places like this being a NoVA girl most of my adult life, and travelled for food and quaint towns. Being that I made this first trip to Olathe KS I just got to try an Asian bakery. It would have been a 5 star rating if: the place was cozier; while new and modern and clean, there isn’t an inviting of cozy feel. Your immediate reaction is to just quickly look at the baked goods then leave. More couches or chairs perhaps??? The service was okay, you pick out your baked treat then line up. You’re not greeted right away and not a lot of chit chat at the counter either. Not too friendly…now, the egg tarts, reasonably priced and delicious! I just wish they had more selections!!!

We absolutely love this little bakery!

There have been a few changes that they’ve made since switching from franchise to corporate that we’re not huge fans of, but we’ll see how the growing pains settle as time goes on.

The new store manager, Lily, is super kind, and so eager to learn and grow! I’m very excited to see how well they do as time goes on! Thanks so much for an awesome experience every time we’re there!

Great bakery with a lot of pastry items.

There are pros and cons to wrapping food items. While it stays “clean” and keeps flies away (Starbucks, take note), I do feel the food looses it’s “crunchiness” or “flakiness”. (I’m inventing a ton of words here….stick with me )

While the Kwaaaswann and Pain Au chocolat were not as flaky or crunchy, they tasted great. The coconut pasty was fantastic too.

I usually don’t opt for smoothies but it was late in the evening and I already had multiple coffees, so I opted for the Mango Coconut smoothie and it tasted great.

Overall a clean bakery with tons of seating and bunchhhh of pastry and drink items

As a longtime fan of 85°C Bakery from visits to major cities, I was thrilled to see one open locally in Overland Park.
It is located right next to Pan Asia, makes for a great one-stop shop. The staff were nice and provided good services. The milk tea was acceptable, meeting my basic expectations. However, the selection of breads and pastries is limited, compared to branches in big cities. The excitement of choice is missing. My favorite is the popular brioche was a huge disappointment. It tasted different and lacked the signature flavor and texture I love. Even the shape was off. I truly hope improvements come soon: more selections of pastries and quality up to the brand’s established standard.

After a long wait finally we have a 85C Bakery in Overland Park, KS. Always hoping to have a nice Taiwanese bakery, and now it’s in town. The shop is opened next to Pan-Asia and ALDI. Because it’s next to a big Asian supermarket who also has its own food cart, it definitely will elevate the experience of the Asian Culture in a way. I have tried some pastries and they all tasted good with nice texture and very flavorful. Not too sweet and overwhelming but well balance with nice flavor. Haven’t tried their drinks yet. They have lots different selection of breads. There are also two Kiosks by the door for drinks orders. Definitely would highly recommend for a visit. The problem is it’s hard to decide what to get too many good choices. Because it’s so popular and lots people visit, you may want to be there early to beat the crowd to have more bread selection.

Side note: If you also have an EV vehicle, there is a charger station in the parking lot between Pan-Asia and 85C Cafe. Happy exploring!

A new bakery in the Kansas City metro has officially opened and it’s one spot you do not want to miss out on! This bakery puts an emphasis on keeping costs low. You can expect to buy pastries and baked goods for all around less than $5. You HAVE to order the basque cheesecake cup. Other delicious items include: the cheese dog, the ham and cheese sandwich, the coffee bread, the red bean bun, and the chocolate mousse cake. They also have some pretty amazing coffees and smoothies! Start your day off with happiness at an affordable price at 85 Degree Celcius Bakery!
