The food was very good. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and paired nicely with the spicy ranch. For dinner, I had the shrimp and grits, which were excellent. My husband ordered the ribeye; although he requested medium-well and it arrived closer to well-done, he still enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, the service was where the experience fell short. While our server was polite, the service felt inconsistent and somewhat inattentive. She was often difficult to find, and there was a noticeable contrast between our table and others nearby. Another table celebrating an anniversary received special acknowledgment, while ours was not mentioned at all, despite being noted on our reservation.
It was uncomfortable to observe multiple surrounding tables receiving attentive, elevated service while we felt like an afterthought. We tipped 30%, but the overall experience left us unsure whether we would return.
The food was enjoyable, but the lack of consistent service made the evening somewhat disappointing (and a little embarrassing).
The service made the experience even more frustrating. Our waitress didn’t check in on us, and it took 30 minutes just to get our drinks. Half of our table didn’t receive their meals until an hour and a half later. By that time, the other half of the group decided not to take their dinners at all.
Overall, this was not the experience we were hoping for. With better seasoning, fresher ingredients, and more attentive service, this place could be so much better.
make reservations to get good seating. It’s a very elegant restaurant, and it has no dress code.
The service is good and the food is excellent. My favorite is the duck fat fried chicken, and I washed it down with some freshly brewed southern sweet tea.
Chef Joe and his team are amazing cooks! The Partridge Inn was built in 1910 by George Walton, one of Georgia’s governors and one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. It was his residence before it became the Partridge Inn. When it became a hotel, it had 60 rooms, and after 6 expansions, it had several different businesses in it after it became a hotel. On the first level it had a post office, barbershop, telegraph office, flower shop, bookstore, hairdressing parlor and drugstore. Lots of prominent people have been guests at this hotel.
At the top floor it has an open air bar called Six South rooftop bar. It has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You can enjoy your favorite alcohol beverage while taking in the breathtaking view of Augusta. The Partridge Inn is rumored to be haunted by Emily. She was a young wife of a soldier who was shot because they thought he was a treasonous soldier. He was falsely accused and killed on their wedding day. Rebecca is the manager of this fine establishment. Tell her Thomas says hi. This is another one of my favorite places. I want to just go chill out on the rooftop. It is very nice and relaxing.
Meka and Becca went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of from start to finish. If you’re looking for great vibes, amazing cocktails, and top-tier service, definitely ask for them. They’ll make your visit to 8595 one to remember!
