Fantastic place! The dinner salad was cold and crisp, with homemade croutons and dressing. Our meals were delicious – well seasoned but not crazy salty. Fries were hot and crispy. Servers were attentive, and empty glasses were quickly refilled. The perfectly crunchable pellet ice was great, too!

Honestly the 818 Diner is probably one of the best things to happen to Alva. Over the past 9 years that I’ve lived in this town I’ve seen the establishment change constantly and I’ve never once seen the building get full until it became the 818 which I find amazing and I’m honestly proud of how well the restaurant has grown since it opened up last year and it’s improvements over the months.

I really enjoyed eating at the 818 Diner with some friends yesterday! The waitress was very friendly and provided good service. The food was excellent! The green beans tasted like my grandmother’s home canned green beans and the meatloaf was almost as good as my mother’s, which is the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. Though it was very busy, the atmosphere was very relaxing and homey. The only downside I experienced was trying to find a parking spot.

I’ve eaten there for breakfast, lunch and supper. Each is great. Breakfast is the best. Service is very good and there interesting pictures, items and articles on the walls from the history of Alva and surrounding areas.
