Amazing food. The portion size was perfect. We got a complimentary dessert as we were celebrating a birthday . And they had a very nice wine selection from which we chose a 2020 Visconti.

2nd day open,
We had a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was very welcoming and pleasant — everyone was so kind and attentive. Our server, Zamaria, was fantastic — friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, and we truly enjoyed our meal. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Our first time to 801 and we will back! Our server, Austin, was amazing! He thoroughly explained the food options and wine options. We discussed our needs to stay away from spicy and he was great to guide us. The crab cake, scallops and specialty dessert was beyond our expectations! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. So worth it!

Had an amazing birthday dinner here on a week night. Both the seafood and steak was phenomenal. We had the petite shellfish platter, calamari , Ora King salmon, and new york strip. Everything tasted fresh and the food came out quickly. Our server was also very know knowledgeable about the menu and gave us a free dessert for the birthday celebration! The blueberry cake with sour cream ice cream was also amazing. Couldn’t recommend this place enough for any occasion!

We have been anticipating their opening for a while. We went there for dinner with another couple. The place is absolutely amazing, wide open spaces and very tastefully decorated. We have been to their sister restaurant 801 chop house a few times and have always had a pleasant experience, so we came here with very high expectations. Being right after Christmas, the place wasn’t that busy, so we were given a high level of attention, including the GM giving us a tour of the place. The service was very friendly and efficient. As far as the food goes, my wife and another person in our party ordered the Sea Bass, which was very well prepared and perfect. I ordered the Bouillabaisse, which was a little disappointing partly, maybe my fault! I was so excited that they had that on menu that I didn’t even read their description! I have an obsession with originality and authenticity of food, especially respecting the name of dishes. As far as I know, Bouillabaissse is a French seafood stew in a seafood and tomato broth fortified with saffron, in their version even though all items were perfectly cooked and tasty was in a simple seafood broth with no hint of tomato base or Saffron! Overall, I still believe they deserve 5 stars, and we will go back, but I would stay away from their Bouillabaisse!

Beautiful new space with attention to every detail. Classic cocktails and unique options, too. Excellent Old Fashioned. We had exceptional service and thoroughly enjoyed every dish we ordered. Mussels, Shrimp Ceviche (possibly the best in the Twin Cities), Swordfish, Prawn Carbonara with homemade pasta and the Lemon Cheesecake that has fresh homemade lemon custard. They also offer steaks from their 801 Chophouse for those that don’t want seafood. We can’t wait to return to try more items on the menu!

I ate at the Minneapolis site 5 times in one week and each meal was excellent. The service was exceptional, the choice of menu items was wide ranging, and the quality of each dish, whether an appetizer, main, or dessert, was superb. I especially enjoyed the Halibut with lentils and chick peas as well as the crab cake and fried calamari and rock shrimp. The monkfish wrapped in prosciutto was exquisite. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Very grateful to the host and manager for being able to seat 10 people on quick notice during a busy weekend. Zamaria, our waitress on both nights, was excellent, friendly and conversational but also full of professionality and hospitality.

These descriptions also fit well the general vibe of the place: slightly upscale Americana open to the richness of modern American fusion cuisine. It’s rare to have Szechuan green beans and mushroom risotto on one menu, but as someone with ample experience in both Chinese and Italian cusine, it was an admirable take on classic favorites, not to mention the abundant portions. I will say the sodium level varied a bit and leaned on the heavy side, at least for my taste, but I trust this is likely the result of opening week and will smooth out over time.

Cocktails were also excellent and praised by our guests for their presentation and, specifically, for getting a Manhattan right! (Quality Rye plus half sweet and half dry vermouth)!

We hope to come back see how the place has progressed next time we’re in town!

We had a lunch in this place on March, 21. We lived this stylish, beautifully decorated restaurant; service was good – polite and fast. We had a lobster bisque (5 stars definitely), baked oysters with garlic and Parmesan (very good, too) and a salad of crab and citrus. The only suggestion I have about the salad – the taste would be better if to replace peanuts by pine nuts or cashews, which would match the tenderness of crab meat much better.

They have valet parking for $15 or else metered street parking. Once you walk in you’re welcome with a great ambiance and a display of fresh seafood at the bar. Went there for a birthday celebration on a Wednesday evening and it was a little busy but our waitress was always there when needed.

Everything on the menu was delicious which I expected since the seafood is fresh! They do have a few steak options for those that don’t eat seafood!

I would go back again and try other dishes. The red snapper was so big it could easily feed 3 people!
