Went there for a work christmas dinner on the 19th. There was about 20 of us. The room was nice. The server was nice and attentive. Very fancy looking place. We ordered a few appetizers in advance so they would be ready quickly when we all got there. We ordered oysters rockefeller, hashbrowns, tuna tartare, crab cake, scallops, and roasted marrow bones. I tried all except the marrow bones. Crab cake was good, scallops were very good, oysters were good. Hashbrowns were way over cooked. Burnt practically on the bottom. Tuna tartare was okay but I’m also not really a fan of raw fish but I tried so I could say I did. We ordered our entrees and sides and my wife and I ordered the 12 Oz filet Mignon. I ordered medium rare and she ordered medium. We had mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides and I also had a lobster corn chowder and she had a salad. She did not like her salad much as it was overwhelmed with onions. Like literally a pile of onions. My lobster corn chowder was absolutely delicious. Probably my favorite of the night. I loved it. Would recommend. Then we received our entrees. She also added a lobster tail to her steak and that lobster tail was huge. Now although the taste of the steak finished with truffle butter was very good, I must say that it was terribly undercooked. Raw practically in the middle. Like I could still see the rawness of it as if it wasnt cooked at all in the middle. Which is not medium rare. I worked my way through most of it though. My wife ordered hers medium and it was closer to what my medium rare shouldve been than mine was. So hers was also undercooked. Taste was good and they were tender but yea just really undercooked. Mashed potatoes were good. Overall I would say it was good but if I had paid for the dinner, I probably would be a little disappointed. Luckily it was all paid for by my work.

I don’t leave reviews very often but this chophouse truly stands out. The food was great, exactly what you would expect for this price point, but the service was over the top excellent. Our waiter, Ricardo, was easily the best waiter we have ever had. He was beyond knowledgeable on the menu and so attentive to each and every need (he would notice if I took a single drink out of my water glass and come refill it)! He even packages up a couple loaves of their bread and butter (to die for) and sent them home with us. We loved our experience and will absolutely be back!

Excellent food and service! I ordered the filet with a Cajun seasoning that was amazing. 801’s happy hours are great too, I’ll be back again soon.

My husband and I visited 801 Chophouse in Omaha for our anniversary after booking a month in advance. We expected a level of attentiveness similar to what we’ve experienced at comparable fine dining restaurants such as Joe’s Seafood (in Chicago), but unfortunately, the service and energy didn’t quite reach that standard. The greeter and service lacked warmth, my husband’s steak was overcooked, and no one asked if we were celebrating/reason for visit or offered dessert. Toward the end, our server apologized for being behind, which was considerate but also confirmed what we had felt all night, that our experience wasn’t a priority.
We went on a Monday, so I understand they might not have been at their weekend peak, but the prices don’t change on a Monday, and neither should the level of care. For $400, I had hoped for more attentiveness and that thoughtful touch that makes a special occasion memorable.

This is not for the faint of heart when it comes to prices, but you get what you pay for! The ambiance, the food, the choice of wines, all came together for an incredible dinner and birthday celebration. The food preparation was like nothing I’ve tasted before in portions that required take-home boxes. I would definitely go back!

Came here for our anniversary. It was very good. Steak was incredibly tender, sides are large portions and enough to pass around, and appetizer was great! We had the scallops wrapped in bacon. Creme brûlée was an extra special treat as well. The location is downtown however they offer complimentary valet parking which was so convenient. Definitely give this place a look if you’re on the search for an elegant night out to celebrate.

801 Chophouse delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The food was incredible. Easily the best steak I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly high quality from the first bite to the last. What truly set the experience apart, though, was the service. From the moment we arrived, every interaction was exceptional. The valet, hosts, server, and even the managers were all attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. It felt like every person cared about making the night special, which is rare and very much appreciated. The atmosphere itself is upscale and inviting, though it was somewhat impacted by a few loud, intoxicated guests nearby, which took away from the overall ambiance. That said, the space itself is beautiful and still feels like a true steakhouse experience. Despite that minor distraction, the quality of the food and the level of service more than made up for it. This is a place that clearly takes pride in what it does, and it shows. I would absolutely return and recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding steak and top-tier service.

Food was impeccable. Had a tomahawk steak that wasn’t even on the menu and was to die for. Service was flawless. Waitstaff was kind, attentive, and very knowledgeable. Incredibly in-depth wine selection. More laid back atmosphere than I was led to believe but that is far from any kind of issue. 9.75/10 experience.

First off I want to say that I normally am a person that doesn’t complain about a restaurant that has good food and perhaps service. But tonight I Find myself in a position of the customer experience. I went into this restaurant that I’ve been in several times before and know the amount of money that I’m going to spend and decided to order the surf and turf. Upon my surprise of getting my entrée of surf and turf, which included 8 ounces of steak, which is the most expensive part of the whole meal and I was served one scallop and one shrimp. Just to put this in perspective, I had to cut my scallop and shrimps into tiny pieces to enjoy with my expensive steak. Seafood is the most cheapest part of the surf and turf meal and yet they decided to give me 8 ounces of steak and less of the inexpensive seafood, which I enjoy most. If this is the chefs take on what a surf and turf is, I suggest he or she goes to other restaurants that I have been in this state and other states of what their surf and turf includes. I’m very disappointed in the meal that I paid almost $400 for and was forced to make one scallop and one shrimp last through my 8 ounces of steak. I expected more from a high-end restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska. I do know it’s hard to keep a restaurant alive in this state that has an abundance of restaurants and good food to choose from however, when it comes to portion sizes of what should be somewhat equal this, however, doesn’t even balance the scale. Poor choice and balance of food and scale size. The proportions were in adequate to the amount of beef I was served.
