A favorite place to celebrate the special occasions in life. Always the best cuts of meats and top notch service. Would encourage for those on a budget to check out their Sunday Supper Special. A side salad, your choice of steak, and a dessert. Recommend if you go with the prime rib, have it seasoned and seared. You won’t regret it.
Be prepared to be there for two hours. This is as much the experience as it is a meal.

Exactly what you’d expect from a truly high-end restaurant — which, unfortunately, feels harder and harder to find these days. A lot of places charge premium prices without delivering premium quality or service. At 801 Chophouse, you actually get both. The service is exceptional, the staff is attentive without being overbearing, and the food is consistently outstanding. It’s one of the few places that genuinely lives up to its reputation.

Had a great time celebrating my 9th Anniversary with my wife. They gave us our desert for free!
Our stakes were amazing. The Kansas City Strip and Filet Mignon was perfect. Kind of regretted not getting a Waygu stake though. We had the Summer Watermelon Salad as an app with Mac & Cheese and Brussels spouts to round everything out.
Was an amazing dinner and you 100% pay what you get. Totally worth it.
The sides stakes and salads are meant to share as well, so keep that in mind.

801 Chophouse in downtown KC nails the balance between upscale dining and a laid-back vibe. The steak was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly high quality. The tuna was just as impressive—fresh, expertly seared, and simply delicious. Service was spot-on, and the whole experience felt effortless. If you’re after top-notch ingredients without the stuffy atmosphere, this place is a solid bet.

The jumbo lump crab cake was the best crab cake I’ve ever had. The snapper was perfect, and everything that came with it suited it very well. The chocolate souffle was also the best I’ve ever had. Michael was a fantastic server. We never had to wait except for the souffle, and he explained in advance that it was going to take 20 minutes. Well worth it!!!

The first time my husband and I visited 801 Chophouse was to celebrate my birthday. We have been a few times since and it still does not disappoint. The food is incredible and the staff is wonderful! If you can, ask for Kyle as he is a phenomenal waiter and his wine knowledge was extremely impressive. Also recommend the chocolate soufflé as dessert but make sure you order it at the beginning of your meal as it can take awhile to bake in the oven.

Top shelf steak place. This place knows how to do it right and give the customers a whole experience. The wagyu melted in your mouth and the king crab legs were so delicious. They also have these lobster bites that are a crowd favorite. They pour good drinks and the desserts were a great way to end a feast like this. Crab cakes were also one of my favorites.

What do you get when you combine high end prime beef with excellent service? You get 801 Chophouse. Everything was top notch and first class. They explain all the cuts of meat before you choose. It’s pricy but well worth it.

We came here for my birthday. I’ve wanted to try this place for a while. When we were seated, they had decorated the table with happy birthday glitter. The Server was nice and helped us with the menu. We ordered and received bread. The bread was fresh and delicious, the butter nice and soft.
My ceaser salad showed up quickly and it was very good. Loved the melted piece of parmesan.
Our food showed up quickly and the mashed potatoes were incredible. The steak cooked perfect. It’s probably the BEST steak I’ve ever had. The only thing I didn’t absolutely love was the asparagus. It was standard.
For dessert I chose Sherbet and it was possibly the best I’ve ever tasted. Perfect temperature, soft and creamy. My date had the cheese cake. We shared bites and that was definitely the best cheese cake ever!
