I stopped in for a butterfly effect tea. It is a healing tea for stress, anxiety and endurance. It starts off blue and then add the lemon and it turns purple. I love the heart shaped ice made of the tea so it doesnt get watered down & lasts longer. I like mine plain no agave or sweetener. I enjoyed looking at the historical pictures during my short wait. The service is true Aloha. Absolutely worth the drive out to Makaha. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Love this place. It’s close to the Hawaiian Princess resort and it’s super fresh food. Unlike the market next door, the employees are friendly and inviting. Great experience overall.

As a local whose family has been part of the Waianae community for five generations, I can confidently say that 80 Percent What You Eat holds a special place in my heart. Growing up in Makaha, I’ve watched our neighborhood evolve, and its businesses like this that keep the authentic spirit of our hometown alive.

My order never changes: their signature acai bowl, without granola, and a generous amount of peanut butter on top. It’s pure perfection. The creamy, rich acai paired with that smooth peanut butter creates the most satisfying combination that keeps me coming back week after week.

What I love most is how this cafe represents the best of local Hawaiian business – fresh ingredients, genuine aloha spirit, and a commitment to serving our community healthy, delicious food. Take your order to go and soak in our beautiful west side atmosphere while enjoying something that nourishes your body and soul.

With deep roots comes a real appreciation for businesses that truly serve the community. Supporting 80 Percent What You Eat isn’t just about getting an amazing acai bowl, it’s about investing in our neighborhood and keeping local businesses thriving.

This place proves that eating healthy doesn’t mean sacrificing flavor or community connection. At the end of the day, I believe eating high quality ingredients will optimize longevity and that we should never place a price tag on health. Aloha!

This is a little hole in wall Cafe with a very friendly service. We stumbled across this on our way to Airbnb and I am so glad we stopped. We loved the smoothie bowls, dairy free shakes and the paninis were absolutely delicious! I tried the special smoked tri-tip panini and my husband got the egg white panini which they customized and added grilled veggies. The toasted cheese and jalapeños on the panini bread were a total game changer. Highly recommend!

We went here for some coffees. I thought they had latte, but I should’ve looked at the menu more closely so I got a brew coffee with almond milk and a Seagrass Shot. My husband ordered an Iced Mocha and we ordered an Aloha Smoothie for my son. Although I was disappointed, not to have a latte, the brew coffee with almond milk was still very good. My husband said the mocha was good but a little bit small for the price. The smoothie was very tasty however again for the price it seemed a little excessive for the size that we received. I realize they’re using wholesome ingredients and getting fruits and vegetables on the island may be more expensive than the mainland so trying to keep that in mind.

I am so grateful to have a place like this in Mākaha! The food and juices are super ono. I’ve had a few different juices and the tropical one is my favorite so far. My favorite food to get is the avocado toast with egg white. Every time I eat there (either with friends or family) the staff always comes out to make sure everything is good. Service is always great! The food comes out a little slow (it’s a small operation), but it’s worth the wait 🙂 I would eat here every day if I could.

Absolutely recommend! The acai bowl was amazing!! So incredibly fresh and filling. The iced mocha was the perfect mix of chocolate and coffee. Most of the seating was outside so not much inside space but great if you want to sit in the sun and enjoy a refreshing smoothie.

Women in the shop were so kind & the avocado wrap was divine! Took it as a picnic to Makua Beach – even after 3 hours baking in the car the veggies were crisp & full of flavor. Loved the lemon wedge & flower garnish. Check out the wonderful wall of family & historic photos in the shop while you wait for your order.
