Fantastic spot to eat at for breakfast, if you’re not wanting to leave the hotel. This restaurant is located on the third floor, directly across from the Vitascope restaurant! This is a brunch style restaurant that is open from 7am-10am, Mon-Sunday. (Those times are for breakfast only!) The food here was so good, that I honestly didn’t want to go anywhere for breakfast. They had everything you can imagine here, including building your own omelette and waffle! Not to mention a healthy authentic juice bar. Now there is a set price that is paid when you first enter the restaurant because it is buffet style that is around $27, card only!

This is an all you can eat breakfast buffet. It is expensive but conveniently located within the Hyatt Hotel. The customer service was outstanding. Our waitress provided outstanding customer service. There were plenty of options to choose from. The food was delicious. I gave 4 stars and not 5 because the omelette and waffle station was horrible. I did not get the omelette and waffle I ordered the first time and had to complete a second card. I waited over 30 minutes before getting the omelette and waffle that I ordered. My family waited over an hour to get theirs. The manager apologized for the omelette and waffle station and fully refunded our money. I do not recommend the omelette and waffle station. I do recommend this restaurant at this location.

The breakfast buffet is world class and more than reasonably priced. I usually HATE buffets. But this one has very well prepared dishes that always look and taste fresh. Huge selection and options to suit any taste or preferences. Gourmet all the way to biscuits and gravy done right. Staff is super courteous and aims to please. I usually avoid eating establishments in a hotel but this Hyatt is the exception.

I had the gumbo/rice, with a side of spicy chicken flat bread, and chocolate cheesecake, yummy! I also had a mixed drink , not sure what it was? But it was good! I didn’t feel like driving to grab something to eat, and decided on eating at the hotel.. very convenient and worth it! (This isn’t a buffet) Thank you, Hung! (Gumbo obviously wasn’t authentic, but it was convenient) 4 stars for the service, drink and cheesecake.

I had the light fare breakfast. It was $18. The full fare is $24. It’s a bit pricey, but that’s what is expected in a hotel. It’s the average serving of breakfast buffet. They serve the drinks in these itty-bitty cups. Maybe that’s a good idea for juice, but for water, I’d rather a larger cup. If you gave time, I’d say go out and get breakfast outside of the hotel. If not, then this will do.

If you’re seeking an exceptional dining experience in New Orleans, the “8 Block Bar” at the Hyatt hotel is a must-visit destination. While the food itself is undoubtedly delicious, it’s Grace’s outstanding service that truly sets this place apart. From the moment you enter, Grace’s warm and welcoming presence puts you at ease.
Grace’s attentiveness is truly unparalleled. Even amidst the bustling atmosphere, she always finds the time to check on her guests, ensuring that every need is met with a genuine smile and friendly demeanor. Her ability to remember regular patrons and greet them familiarly is a testament to her dedication to providing a personalized experience.
What makes Grace truly remarkable is her passion for her craft. She takes immense pride in her work, and it shows in the way she effortlessly navigates the busy restaurant, ensuring that each guest feels valued and attended to. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular, Grace’s infectious positive energy and excellent customer service will leave a lasting impression.
The Hyatt hotel is truly fortunate to have an employee like Grace, who embodies the essence of hospitality. Her commitment to her job and her ability to create a welcoming atmosphere make the 8 Block restaurant a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in New Orleans. Oh, I asked her for a recommendation, as i was asking for a Calamari and she suggested a popcorn shrimp and the burger. It was fantastic and superb! I highly recommend giving it a try.

This is a really nice lunch option close by one of the locations where I work. This is a buffet but think a NOLA style buffet. On the buffet are options like red beans and rice, gumbo, just to list a couple of options. The buffet is broken into a number of sections, a salad bar, sandwich bar, soup bar, dessert bar and an entree bar. To top this off, there is also an option, with the full buffet, to create your own entree where you pick options from a menu card provided. The food is really good and service is awesome to boot. For me create your own entree, I chose, Pan fried salmon with sweet potato gnocchi.

Seriously, that buffet was the best! I should’ve snapped some pics. The choices, the price, and the location? I could’ve eaten there daily. 10 out of 10 for me

This place is amazing for breakfast. The grits were so creamy and all the fruit was fresh. I usually stay at Hyatt Regency for work in other states. I had a raspberry danish and wanted to know if I could get it here. Bruce Banks took about 15 minutes and got it to me. He brought it to the table and was willing to do anything to make my morning easier. I will definitely be back.

I stayed in the Hyatt for over a week and had breakfast there daily. In my experience, the price is not worth it. It is just a buffet with several options. There is no variety in coffee, and the coffee is terrible. The cups are dirty! And as well the dishes. The staff is really friendly, and they get you a clean dish/cup if you ask, but it was a bit disgusting that they didn’t clean everything well at first. The omelet/waffle station is terrible; they don’t know how to make an omelet, and they call a Belgian Waffle their dry dough in a waffle shape. Service can be very slow, so be ready to wait 10 min to be seated and another 10 to get a terrible cup of coffee.
