The cashier (Khaleb) was polite but seemed tired , low-energy, no smiling and he or the cook got my order wrong (put something that I cannot eat). By the time I discovered it at work, I couldn’t eat it and missed my lunch.
When I returned, they refunded the soup, which I appreciated. Still, given the mistake and inconvenience risking an allergy reaction, I would’ve expected a small gesture such as a replacement meal or sincere apology.
Overall, I rated this 1 star because both the food and service fell short of expectations.
For a much better seafood gumbo, I recommend Jason’s Deli — tastier, higher quality, and reasonably priced
The restaurant is very well taken care of and the woman at the register was sooooo lovely and outgoing. Thank you for the recommendations! Plentyyyy of parking right out front.
I’ve been eating at Seven Spice for years at a different location, so I know their menu and what items are free. When I asked for limes and tartar sauce—both of which are complimentary—Omar acted as though I was requesting something I shouldn’t, and made remarks under his breath. This was uncalled for and created an uncomfortable environment.
When I mentioned that I would be writing a review, he responded with “go ahead,” which felt unprofessional for a manager. As I was leaving the building, I also heard him say something under his breath that sounded like an insult. I chose not to engage, but it only added to the disappointment of the interaction.
Considering that this individual is the manager, I expected much better. Customer service is the foundation of this business, and speaking to a guest in that tone is inappropriate and unprofessional. Management sets the example for the rest of the staff, and this kind of behavior does not reflect well on the restaurant.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because a manager should know better and act accordingly.
Back to the food: it was hot, crunchy, and well seasoned. The ranch came with the boudin balls but it was so good, I ate it with the fish, shrimps, and fries too. I liked their batter as well, crispy and flavorful.
It was more food than I expected (the shrimps were big) so I had to take some togo. Will be back to get their crawfish.
