The snails is fresh but the sauce (lemon grass + dark soy sauce) is not delicious.
The mani Cai is good.
The steam pork is okay. The food here is average.
Wat Tan Hot is lousy. No wok hei, no heart and no depth.
The boss is very friendly and smiles a lot which is welcoming.
The place is hot and may have mosquitoes. Do ask for mosquito coil incense repellent immediately as soon as you sit down.
This happened again even though I ate it within 10 minutes after picking it up from the restaurant. The issue is not the crispiness of the flour, but the chicken meat itself, which was unusually tough.
I’m quite disappointed, especially since this is the second time it has happened.
Wanting to have crab, we stumbled upon this restaurant with some $48 for 4 small crabs deal. I was looking for the crabs in the tank, the waitress said they just killed the crab and sent it to the kitchen, she said ‘guarantee fresh’. So we decided to give it a try even though the restaurant looked run down and old but they were preparing a lot of take away so we thought it should be good.
We ordered the salted egg wet crab, noodles, fried bittergourd and midin. The food came out looking good and and tasted decent. We ate the food and kept wondering if the texture of the crab was no good as it was watery? not bouncy. tried other pieces and they were all the same weird texture. The sauce was nice, so we continued eating UNTIL WE SPOTTED A FLY THAT WAS DEEP FRIED WITH THE CRAB BATTER. YUCK. That ruined the meal.
I showed the waitress the fly was stuck on the crab piece and she went away and returned telling me her boss will adjust the bill. I heard her say the overall bill was RM40. When the bill came the boss said ‘sorry, ive deducted RM8 off your bill and we dont take card we only take cash or QR the bill it RM80’. I was so shocked he served us food with fried fly in our crab dish and still charged us near full price! We ordered so many other things as well.
I feel disgusted, and I really hope I don’t get food poisoning from this place. Come here at your own RISK!
The pork with salted fish was very salty, with more onion wedges and dry chilies than actual pork meat. We ordered two sets of crabs: the wet butter crabs were totally delicious, but the kam heong crabs were extremely salty. In the video, you can see that both the pork and the kam heong crabs are as black as charcoal.
We also had two fresh coconuts, one Kopi C Peng, and two limau ice. The total came to RM218. Was it worth it? I’m not sure. They seemed busy preparing takeout orders for New Year’s Eve, so all the dine-in customers had to wait for an hour or more until they finished those orders. Will come I come again? NO!
