765 Korean Eats – West Lafayette, Indiana
Reviews
It truly felt like authentic Korean food away from home. The restaurant is clean and convenient, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
So happy to have this spot nearby — we’ll definitely be back.
The food was a solid 11/10. We ordered the spicy pork belly, beef brisket with bean sprout, and a side of spicy cold noodles. The pork belly was just spicy enough to sate my craving for spice while being mild enough that my spice-averse partner could enjoy it as well. The beef brisket was juicy, tender, and flavorful, and the bean sprouts soaked up the flavor really nicely. The cold noodles were a nice addition to the meal, offering a refreshing reprieve from the heavy-hitting flavors of the meats. I want to rave about these cold noodles! They were a perfectly springy texture with a simple accompaniment of veggies, but the broth was excellent—a little spicy tang, a little sweetness, and such an addictive flavor. The banchan were lovely as well, the burdock root being a big hit between my partner and I.
The service was excellent as well! The staff was very attentive and pleasant, and the kitchen was so generous. They upgraded our cold noodles from a side to a meal portion so that it was more easily shareable between my partner and I, free of charge! They also gave us a complimentary plate of waffle fries and fried shrimp, the perfect anju to pair with the beer that I’d ordered. They made certain that we left even happier than we’d arrived!
The atmosphere was very inviting and welcoming. Unassuming from the outside, the restaurant’s interior offers a good bit of seating, both in the larger dining room and in smaller private rooms behind curtains. We sat by a window that overlooked the pavilion, a cozy choice for a day like today. There’s also a giant chalkboard wall that customers are invited to draw on!
To round out my notes on 765 Korean eats, the food was very reasonably priced and well worth the money for the portions. I don’t expect the same level of generosity (free food & upgrades) each time I go (and I will be going back soon!), as I want the business side of things to run well for them too, but they definitely know how to make a wonderful first impression!
I can’t recommend this place enough!
