Best coffee. I think I’ve ever had the food was great.
Overall five stars. In my opinion, best diner in the United States.
I think this restaurant has the FRIENDLIEST and best wait staff ever! Kelton was WONDERFUL! And my gosh, the food! Again! Generous portions, cooked perfectly. I don’t usually get mashed potatoes and gravy at restaurants -I’ve never cared for the flavors BUT THESE! WOW! The mash is hearty with skin-on goodness and this is the only restaurant brown gravy I’ve ever approved of. Well done again! I’m telling EVERYONE!
2024 Pros: hearty portions commensurate with price, open 24/7, great staff, clean, delish
Cons: none
We heard good things from friends and had been meaning to come for awhile -I wish we’d tried it sooner! We ordered the Hub Cap with tots, the Hot Beef, and the Frings (onion rings and French fry basket). Our food came out hot and fresh -and SO DELISH! The spicy mayo that comes with the Frings was such a great sauce. My sandwich was perfection (2 snaps for them using good bacon) and I loved that the onion rings were battered and not breaded. Nickole, our waitress, was also amazing. She was so friendly, fast, helpful, and told us about all the awards the diner has won. We were so impressed with the food, service, and also SO happy they were open at 3am when we needed food. Finally, the atmosphere is well-lit, clean, and welcoming. We will definitely return soon!
Forget the fancy restaurants in Chicago or New York that say they serve American. This is American food! My sandwich (Belt Buster) had a pound of bacon serve with triple toast. It tasted exactly like your own cooking but with massive portions. The bacon had great quality and a lot of protein. Not just fat. The eggs were well salted.
My brother had a sandwich (Son of a Biscuit) the size of his face soaked gravy. He served in the marines but this was his hardest battle yet finishing off the monstrosity with a fork and knife. We both took food home.
The place is a diner next to a gas station making it very convenient. They are very busy and the waitresses are nice and straightforward. Don’t waste their time. My only qualm is the vibes could be better, but you get what you came for. It took a while to get the check.
If the question is, can I cook this food? The answer is yes, but you come here because you want to eat, not because it’s the best thing in the world. Would forever recommend. Makes you feel patriotic.
My husband got the trucker skillet with sourdough and 10/10 would recommend! I got the 2×4 with pancakes and also would 10/10 recommend!
Can’t say enough good things about this place! They also are amazing at getting people in very fast!
