Was excited about eating at a new place. Looked at menu, wasn’t super allergy friendly, but found something. My party both got lasagna. The service was great. The waiter was really attentive. Very accommodating. He made the night great. Joking with us made us comfortable. The ambiance was really nice. Very nice inside. The seating was great, and it was handicap accessible. Loved that part. The tables were a good distance apart. They didn’t feel like you were eating on top of someone. The menu was okay. Everything was a red sauce, no other cheeses except mozzarella. So when my arugula pizza came out, it had no sauce. Olive oil was the sauce. I omitted the cheese because I couldn’t do mozzarella. So all it had on it was procuitto and arugula. The stuff just fell off the bread. So I wasn’t happy and I told the waiter. He apologized, and the manager came right out to fix the situation. She offered another meal and wanted to know what she could do to remedy the situation. She wanted me to have a good time, a good meal. I chose to just not get anything else because the menu was limited and not really made to order. There are not many things to substitute if you can’t have something. No other sauces, no vegetables to add, no other cheeses to substitute. Told her not her fault because its my allergies, and they didn’t really have anything I could eat. Very clean establishment. A tad loud once it became busy. It’s hard to talk to your party. My party said the lasagna was really good and they had no problems cutting my boyfriend food for him due to disabilities. Probably not a redo place for me, but I’m really happy I got enjoy a good nice with the people I love.

This place is great for happy hour! They had half off pizzas and apps, as well as discounts on select drinks. The truffle fries were very flavorful and well made. The pizzas were good for the price, I think full price would’ve been a little too expensive, though. The pesto sauce with the arancini was delicious, but the rice in arancini was a little hard. My sister loved the meatballs. Overall, I have a good experience, and I would go back.

Last night we had our Annual Christmas Dinner here. There were 10 of us all together. The restaurant actually made name cards for our seating arrangements. We thought that was such a nice touch. Our waitress Linda was Wonderful! Friendly, Attentive and just an All Around Great Lady!! But the Food….Oh my Gosh, the Food was Amazing!!! We had a Four Course Meal and from the salad to the dessert Everything was Delicious!!! I Highly Recommend this place!! Thank you 745 Osteria for making our evening Special!!!

This was our first time dining at 745 Osteria. They were quite busy at 6:30 on a Saturday night but we managed to get right in and sat at the bar, which is our preferred seating area. The bartender, Marylyn, was very very pleasant and her service was outstanding. We had old Fashioneds that were perfect. For an appetizer we ordered the 745 Bread Service which included 3 different homemade breads and was delicious. Our entrees were the Chicken Parmigiana and the Rigatoni Bolognese and both were spectacular. There are many great places to eat in Old Saybrook and 745 Osteria is the newest one on the list. We highly recommend this new Eatery in town.

The food was lackluster and underwhelming. Starting with the Roasted Milanse Scallops from the large plate section of the menu. Four very small scallops without any hint of milanese flavor no breadcrumbs as described on the menu. The scallops were placed on top of a serving of risotto which was salty and saturated with oil. The Roasted Beet Salad, disappointing. The beets were not roasted likely from a can. The orange segments were dry and tastless. No balsamic vinegarette to speak of, a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Lastly, the Penne Vodka was average. No bread service. Not even an option on menu for a surcharge.
The Blueberry Mule had a nice flavor.
Restaurant was empty only one other table. It was overall disappointing as it was a milestone birthday dinner. I wasn’t expecting a full dessert or anything but a slight gesture would have been nice especially since the person being celebrated specifically requested to dine there.

This is my new favorite place! So glad there’s finally some good Italian food in Old Saybrook! The patio is awesome. After eating, my girlfriends and I had drinks by the fire pit for another two hours, because the servers were SO attentive and fun. I could eat the beet salad and the Genovese pizza every single day! This place is definitely the Shoreline’s newest hotspot.

Driving by we saw the place. Eating out we thought of it.
We ordered the shrimp risotto and the pasta Bolognese, liked better the risotto but the pasta was good.
The service was excellent and friendly.
The only bad note was the tiramisu. Maybe it was me and mi wife, but we didn’t enjoy it.
Good chianti.
Overall we liked it and next time we will get a different dessert.

While the food and ambiance was spectacular, the service was very poor. Our table was not very well attended to. We lacked salt/pepper, extra napkins and drink refills. Our server was absent, never checked on us and was not very friendly. I did enjoy the food, but will not return, when there are so many other places I feel welcomed.
