Family restaurant, blue plate type meals. We both enjoyed a nice tender chicken fried steak w mashed potatoes, with brown gravy, ( I prefer white but it was very good) . Side salad with delicious homemade ranch. Navy bean soup good, with the addition of some good shakes of their hot sauce. Lots of folks enjoying really big breakfast entree’s. Biscuits and gravy looked amazing. French toast and waffle looked great.
A teenager was chowing on the monster burger it is really big, he was in cow heaven.
Good eats, good people, good prices. Art for sale
Highly recommended, lots of locals there.

Our food was good, not anything I couldn’t make at home, had I been there. The interior could use updating but nothing terrible. If you want good home style cooking go here.

If you’re looking for a great breakfast in North Iowa… follow the farmers. They know where to get the good stuff. This place will remind you of home with great food and good service.

I love the mom and pop restaurants when traveling. They seem to make traveling more tolerable than grabbing a bite from a fast food chain. Food was excellent, waiters were excellent. Will definitely keep this place in mind when traveling thru the area again.

Well I ordered an omelet. Unfortunately it was scrabble eggs with the meats and vegetables mixed in the eggs. I say this because it takes away from the flavor of the meats and vegetables. A true omelet is an egg mixed up with a little milk for fluff, the meats and vegetables stuffed inside with cheese. I can say it was good but not a real omelet for that the food gets 3 stars. Pancakes were good but typical cake batter in the mix for sweetness. Hashbrowns were very good tho, crispy as I asked for. Nothing special about this place, typical normal breakfast.

The food is reasonably priced and delicious. They have space on the back to accommodate large groups. If you are looking for a breakfast spot, I would highly recommend eating here.

I’m not really sure if it’s cause me and my fiancée are from down south OK but this place was gross. Pretty sure waters supposed to be FREE but she charged us $1.75 for it, the chili had absolutely NO meat in it, it’s literally just bean and onion soup, the grilled cheese was OKAYISH, my fiancée had the “Hercules” meal and its was gross, honestly shouldn’t be named after a MOVIE that’s actually GOOD lol but hey it’s from Iowa, it was hash, hash browns, eggs and a pancake, only somewhat good thing on that was literally the peanut butter we had put on the pancake. Not to mention she OVERCHARGED us an extra $10-$15 for our stuff. Overall NOT a good place to eat at while traveling .. oh and the health inspector was walking in while we were walking out.

This is a great homey place. Very relaxed. Excellent location just of the interstate and no worry of traveling through town. We ordered the special 3pc walleye and liver and onions with bacon. The walleye had an amazing batter. Didn’t need rather sauce. The liver was cooked very well and anyone who likes liver knows that getting it just right is important. The apron of bacon was a very nice treat. All of our food was very good. The staff is very accommodating. They make sure your beverage. The price was very fair and the amount of food you receive is large. I would recommend this location for a nice relaxed home dining experience.
