When we arrived, they were conducting the hornet talk with the mix 104.9 KFFX event that night. The coaches and some of the athletes were talking and providing entertainment for the night, but that was the least of my worries let’s talk about the food.

The food in which I ordered was the Bob burger with garlic Parm brussels sprouts.

The brussels sprouts were cooked properly with a crisp outside and a flavorful taste. Each layer of the brussels sprout was evenly cooked and blasting with flavor.

The burger had the most amazing cheese pull from a burger that I’ve ate in a long time. The chipotle aïoli sauce was phenomenal. I can’t recommend it anymore. I asked the waitress. What burger should I pick in between the heater and the Bob, she said the pickles on the bar brings out the burger so much more.

I trusted what she had said and let me tell you she did not disappoint , I originally started off getting fries, but saw that they had the brussels sprouts and decided to give it a shot. If you’re in this area stop in and hopefully you’ll experience a similar atmosphere as I have. Lovely Collegetown, lovely staff. delectable food.

627 Event Space in Emporia, KS is a solid local spot with a relaxed, casual atmosphere that works well for food, drinks, and catching what’s going on around town.

The burgers are a highlight. They’re well cooked, flavorful, and paired nicely with sweet potato fries that are crispy and satisfying. Food wise, it’s definitely a strong point and worth coming back for.

On Monday nights, they host live Hornet talk radio, which is a fun touch for sports fans, though it can get a little loud at times and make conversation tougher depending on where you’re seated.

The drink program is where things fall short. The selection is somewhat extensive but the drink concoctions are missing the mark, and bar service could use improvement, especially during busier periods when wait times start to add up.

Overall, 627 Event Space has good food and a laid back vibe with some unique local character. With a stronger drink selection and more consistent bar service, it could be an even better experience.

If you aren’t white I wouldn’t recommend coming here. They make it very clear on who they want to service if you catch my drift. No issues with the bartenders and the food is good too for the most part. The waiters are a different story however

As a tourist ill-advisedly walking around town in the extreme cold on New Year’s Day, I stumbled upon this place as it was the only one that was open. And I was so glad I did. The food here warmed my soul, and the friendliness warmed my heart. Ashley welcomed me in instantly, and served me some tea even though it wasn’t even on their menu. I had their cheesy jalapeno poppers and their spiced caramel Bundt cake. Both items were really good, but the cake was exceptional. It was warm, and super moist. The sweet and sticky caramel sauce complimented the mild Christmas-y spices, and the toffee crumble on top added a delicious soft crunch, making the cake tick all the right boxes.

The environment is classic American, beautiful set up dark mahogany bar and wooden table and chairs throughout. It filled up very quickly after sunset, even on New Year’s Day, so I’m sure on any usual day it would be full of people having a good time with their friends and family. Lots of stories and laughter. It had that vibe.

Large portions, decent food, good atmosphere, great service!
It was kind of busy during our visit.
Several different dishes were order and everyone said they were good. The Brussels sprouts were great! I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and onion rings. The sandwich was big and tasted decent. The onion rings were soaked in grease and a bit soggy.
Definitely worth the stop and we may go back but I wouldn’t change my plans and go out of my way to eat there.

Food was very good. They have the best brussel sprouts. Our waitress was great too.

The lighting is a little dim which makes it hard to read the menu. Seemed like everyone in our party was having to angle the menu just right to be able to read it.

Sadly by the name alone I had assumed that this place was just for Events. But one evening walking around on Commercial St. We seen it was open for dinner.. Surprise!!!!! It’s also a very cozy, family friendly, Bar& Grill . We went in and the staff was attentive and very friendly.
If you haven’t been here then I suggest you give it a try. The food is fresh and delicious, our dinners were perfectly made and we had fried pickles as a appetizer and even those didn’t disappoint, they are freshly hand-breaded when ordered so they aren’t just the normal frozen deep fried appetizers. The steaks were perfectly made and very tender. I had the wings with roasted brussel sprouts and it was only $ 11.00. They were delicious and so filling I had to take half of my dinner home.
Great job and I wish you much success… Lol, advertise more of your Bar& Grill part of your name.

All of the food was really unseasoned. Chicken strips were dry, chips were stale, salsa tasted like ketchup, and fries were chewy. Food was not the most enjoyable, but the service was great. We were welcomed and the waitress was great.

Went in to get family dinner. Was sat after about five minutes of standing at the door, then sat for another 15 before someone asked if we had even been greeted. Took our waitress another five minutes to come ask if we wanted anything to drink. Got our food and it was subpar. Nothing to write home about. Then sat around for 10-15 minutes after we had all collectively finished eating. A different waitress asked if we were ready to pay so we did. Left the establishment and the girl who was our waitress came running out side after we had gotten into our vehicle to leave trying to chase us down. Strange, so we went back thinking maybe we had left something. No, come to find out she had complained to other patrons thinking we had dined and dashed but was no where to be found when we got back inside. Had she been attentive and doing her job she would have been the one to check us out. Needless to say for my first impression of this place, I will not be coming back for a while.

The chicken strips are larger than in many other places. Can get salad or brussel sprouts as a side dish instead of french fries. The servers do a great job.
