The food in which I ordered was the Bob burger with garlic Parm brussels sprouts.
The brussels sprouts were cooked properly with a crisp outside and a flavorful taste. Each layer of the brussels sprout was evenly cooked and blasting with flavor.
The burger had the most amazing cheese pull from a burger that I’ve ate in a long time. The chipotle aïoli sauce was phenomenal. I can’t recommend it anymore. I asked the waitress. What burger should I pick in between the heater and the Bob, she said the pickles on the bar brings out the burger so much more.
I trusted what she had said and let me tell you she did not disappoint , I originally started off getting fries, but saw that they had the brussels sprouts and decided to give it a shot. If you’re in this area stop in and hopefully you’ll experience a similar atmosphere as I have. Lovely Collegetown, lovely staff. delectable food.
The burgers are a highlight. They’re well cooked, flavorful, and paired nicely with sweet potato fries that are crispy and satisfying. Food wise, it’s definitely a strong point and worth coming back for.
On Monday nights, they host live Hornet talk radio, which is a fun touch for sports fans, though it can get a little loud at times and make conversation tougher depending on where you’re seated.
The drink program is where things fall short. The selection is somewhat extensive but the drink concoctions are missing the mark, and bar service could use improvement, especially during busier periods when wait times start to add up.
Overall, 627 Event Space has good food and a laid back vibe with some unique local character. With a stronger drink selection and more consistent bar service, it could be an even better experience.
The environment is classic American, beautiful set up dark mahogany bar and wooden table and chairs throughout. It filled up very quickly after sunset, even on New Year’s Day, so I’m sure on any usual day it would be full of people having a good time with their friends and family. Lots of stories and laughter. It had that vibe.
It was kind of busy during our visit.
Several different dishes were order and everyone said they were good. The Brussels sprouts were great! I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and onion rings. The sandwich was big and tasted decent. The onion rings were soaked in grease and a bit soggy.
Definitely worth the stop and we may go back but I wouldn’t change my plans and go out of my way to eat there.
The lighting is a little dim which makes it hard to read the menu. Seemed like everyone in our party was having to angle the menu just right to be able to read it.
If you haven’t been here then I suggest you give it a try. The food is fresh and delicious, our dinners were perfectly made and we had fried pickles as a appetizer and even those didn’t disappoint, they are freshly hand-breaded when ordered so they aren’t just the normal frozen deep fried appetizers. The steaks were perfectly made and very tender. I had the wings with roasted brussel sprouts and it was only $ 11.00. They were delicious and so filling I had to take half of my dinner home.
Great job and I wish you much success… Lol, advertise more of your Bar& Grill part of your name.
