5th Element Indian Bistro Bar – Authentic Indian Buffet Experience in …
Reviews
I arrived around noon, and while the food was still tasty, the overall quality felt noticeably different. Several items weren’t being replenished, the variety seemed more limited, and some dishes looked like they had been sitting out for a while. Comparing it to the photos from my previous visit, there’s definitely a visible difference.
I was especially looking forward to the papadum they offered before, but it wasn’t available this time. The ice cream machine was also out of order, which was a bit of a letdown. Even the restroom had maintenance issues.
For $16.99, I do expect a more consistent experience, especially considering how impressed I was during my last visit. Service was okay, but overall this visit didn’t live up to the standard I experienced before.
I’m hoping this was just an off day, because I know they’re capable of doing better.

Had a fantastic lunch at 5th Element Indian Bistro & Bar! Their lunch buffet is an incredible deal — under $20 per person — with both a meat bar and a vegan bar, plus dessert and chai tea. Everything was flavorful and freshly made. The restaurant is located in a plaza with plenty of parking, which is super convenient. Though the space looks a bit run-down, it’s large with lots of tables and perfect for groups. The service was good, and I noticed many Indian guests dining there, which really speaks to the authenticity of the food. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for real Indian cuisine!
We ordered Mix Veg Pakora, Chicken Soup, and Pani Puri for appetizers. Dinner was Natukodi Chicken, Mango Chicken, Onion Kulcha, and Kabuli Naan. We both ordered Chai as well. Everything was delicious, made to taste, and fresh.
Highly recommend 5th Element.
Friendly service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
We will definitely be back!!
What we tried:
• Mulligatawny Veg Soup (8/10): Warm, comforting, and packed with flavor. It had visible oil on top and a curry-like base—definitely more of a spiced broth than a traditional soup, but still delicious.
• Karampodi Chicken (10/10): A standout dish! Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated in fiery South Indian spices and lentil powder. It reminded me of Chicken 65, but with an extra punch. Highly recommended—especially if you like bold flavors.
• Aloo Tikki Chaat (9/10): Very fresh and flavorful. The crunchy sev on top was a nice touch. Just note: it’s more of a mashed potato base, not a traditional fried aloo tikki patty, which might be unexpected from the name.
• Noodles (6/10): Ordered mild for the kids but found it too oily. Large chunks of cabbage and peas were slightly undercooked. Not the best choice from the menu.
• Chicken Karhai with Boiled Rice (4/10): Disappointing. It had raw capsicum and tomato chunks, and the curry was more yogurt/cream-based than tomato-based—which didn’t match traditional Karhai expectations. More like a generic chicken curry. However, they kindly offered complimentary raita after we mentioned the spice level, which tasted great.
• Roti: Soft, fresh, and well-made. No complaints here.
Spice Levels: They offer a 1–10 spice scale. I went with 3 and still found it quite spicy, so adjust accordingly depending on your tolerance.
Final Thoughts: Great atmosphere, attentive service, and a few dishes worth coming back for (especially the Karampodi Chicken!). Some misses, but the overall dining experience was enjoyable. Would recommend for anyone looking to explore authentic Indian flavors with a vibrant setting.
But 5th Element Delray Beach is different.
3 stars for the kind servers & the venue itself. This place is located in a plaza and is large filled with many tables. We tried all sorts of dishes. We love indian food and get it every wknd. I would suggest lighten up on salt and try a more fresh approach. We are foodies and we do care, so sharing these ideas more to help.
