5th Ave Grill & Deli is seriously awesome. I’m not sure why some of the other reviews are so negative — that definitely wasn’t our experience. My family and I are big deli fans, and this place honestly exceeded our expectations. We all ordered Reubens and they were delicious — stacked right, fresh, and put together really neatly. The service was great too. Our server was super friendly and helpful with the menu, brought condiments right away, and even suggested dessert — which we’re glad she did because the homemade cheesecake and carrot cake were both amazing. This feels like a true classic deli — warm, welcoming, and full of character. You can tell they care, and seeing the owners around made it feel even more personal. Total hidden gem with an old-school vibe. We’ll definitely be back.

Ehh after looking at the reviews from fellow African Americans I will say this place doesn’t like our kind around here at this place. Guy came out the back saw us and shook his head I guess it’s safe to say people are still ignorant enough to dislike you for the color of your skin in 2026 won’t be returning the people there looked as if they didn’t want “our kind around” I remember coming here a couple years ago it was packed. This time look like the bosses was in no greeting whispers and felt like we walked into a whites only restaurant and to be safe they just did their good deed and served us mid breakfast will not be back

Went there for lunch because the menu seemed pretty promising. I had the hummus with pita bread and the chicken shawarma with a side of potato salad. The potato salad wasn’t homemade basically the same stuff from a tub they sell at all deli’s. The hummus was very bland no flavor at all and the chicken shawarma was just ok. I gave them 3 stars because it wasn’t the worst food I’ve ever had, but it definitely wasn’t the best. However, the staff there was friendly. I just wish the food was a little bit better.

The tahini sauce delicious and my husband got the cornbeef they make it themselves in the restaurant also amazing ! I would recommend getting those I brought my leftovers home .

My father and I have been coming to 5th Ave most Saturday mornings for a couple of years. The servers are so kind and attentive. They remember our usual meals, and my coffee never gets lower than half way. The omelets are phenomenal and quite generous. I haven’t found better breakfast food anywhere in Mayfield Heights.

I have been coming to 5th Avenue deli for over a year and its my go to spot for brunch on a Sunday. Its fairly busy, so sometimes you may get lost in the sauce.
My favorite meal here is an Irish omelet with corn beef, onions, feta, spinach, tomatoes and swiss. On the side, rye toast and a bowl of fruit.
