Food was good but the wait (~25 min for food) was long. Cost was a little higher for the area. My burger was $14. And salad was over $5. But they had a salad bar which was good.

We went there today and the service was great, thank you Mattie. Food was good, flavorful, juicy and hung over my bun . I hope you can take a little constructive criticism? Please tell your cook to drain the fried food before he puts it in the basket. Also use paper towels or napkins instead of wax like/parchment paper to soak up the grease. No one wants to stare at grease on the bottom of the plate. We’ll definitely be back cause ya breakfast menu is terrific. You did good Mattie, thank you.

The owner and staff were attentive and took good care of us. Food was good. Only problem, when someone asks for diet coke and you’re serving coke zero, be sure to tell people that you’re serving coke zero. Some folks don’t like coke zero.

We always give a place two visits just in case the first visit was a fluke. Our first visit we ordered wings and pizza. The wings were pretty good but the pizza was cold.
This visit everything was unbelievably slow. It didn’t seem that busy. The music was so loud that we couldn’t hear the waitress, nor could she hear us without leaning over the table.
We ordered the BBQ Pizza and the Brisket Nachos. When we got them they were cold. We told the waitress about it and asked for to-go containers so we could leave and heat the food ourselves. We just didn’t want to be there anymore. We got a brief sorry about that and our check.
I can get over a long wait for food, but not if you give me cold food. That being said, the pizza did taste pretty decent. However, it seemed a bit meager for a meal portion. I would have considered it an appetizer.
I want to like the place and I want to encourage locally owned eateries. But you have to bring your A game.

Thriving With Victor Aguirre
Very happy with this place. My wife and I stopped by on Sunday to have a bite to eat & have a few drinks. Met a couple of the staff members &; they were all very friendly. This is a hidden gem in Lufkin. If you haven’t tried it out, I highly recommend it. We will be returning very soon.

Had a great time with my family here. The music playing over the speakers and the atmosphere makes it have the hometown Cafe experience. We came during the brunch menu and everything we had was delicious and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend the breakfast tacos and the breakfast sandwich, can’t wait to come back and try the dinner menu.

Food was very tasty, but portions were a little skimpy. I had brisket tacos and waited 45 mins. 8 of us in our group. Half of our group got their food, and was almost through eating by the time the rest got their food. Service was good, but if your very hungry I would not recommend.

We wanted to like this place so badly… I understand having subpar service during peak hours but when there’s 12 people 6 at one table with empty glass and the server/bartender is sitting at the bar on their phone there’s a problem. It may have just been too laid back for someone who has worked in the service industry.
