Welcome to Aurora 56 tavern! Auroras food scene continues to evolve with this upscale American bistro with a French flair. The reinvention of the interior was well needed as it increased its appeal tenfold. The new look is much more fitting for the food they serve, well done. We went on a Wednesday night and it was steady, not crazy busy. The staff was incredible and greeted us with big smiles. The service continued throughout the meal. We had Derrick, who kept our glasses filled and our food hot. He was very caring and knew the menu good, which is all you can ask for. As for the food, the crab cakes were phenomenal. Great amount of crab and not too much of the other filler stuff, which is how I like it. The lobster bisque was not our favorite, but certainly not a terrible bowl of soup. The lobster was probably frozen, and needed some more doctoring to distract from the odd texture. For entrees I got the salmon and we also got the prime rib sandwich. All aspects of the salmon meal were good besides the cook on the salmon was a little over. That being said, the crisp on the bottom of the salmon was perfect when paired with the succulent potato’s and crispy Brussels. All of the flavors came together well and it was heavy on the garlic. The sandwich was also very delicious. The horseradish sauce was a perfect pairing with the tender steak and crispy baguette. The fries were seasoned to perfection as well. I wish we would’ve saved room for dessert because they looked amazing. All in all it was a great meal and a much needed addition to the Aurora food scene.

Had a very pleasant dinner here. I had the Crab Stuffed Grouper and my significant other had the Prime Rib (tonight’s specials).
Both plates came at a reasonable time, and very hot. The wine was very good as well.
Service was excellent with complimentary valet parking.

Love this place! We frequent once a week. Recently added a new chef and the along with that even better dishes. Great staff, great drinks and a warm relaxing atmosphere. Located in the Aurora Inn hotel but not your standard hotel restaurant. Very good!

Not good. My wife made reso for Friday after Thanksgiving. Ordered Maine lobster bisque and clam chowder to start. There is no Maine lobster involved in their bisque at all!! There was no bread with the meal either. Bisque and clam chowder should have bread. No oyster crackers with the chowder either?? What?? No bread with small portions. Flat bread was ok but very small for what they charge. Salmon Cesar salad had a small piece of overcooked salmon. This is the biggest scam here, I ordered two entrees, the fish sandwich and the blackened shrimp linguine. I asked for some extra fries instead of the coke slaw with the sandwich. I got a straight up “no”. A couple fries couldn’t be sacrificed!!! I realized why when it came out. There were like 12 fries in a baby steel cup. The blackened shrimp linguine was the biggest joke!! No blackened shrimp, but a few baby shrimp were mixed in. It was all sauce!! Maybe 1/10 of a pound of pasta! Place is a rip off! You get no value out of this place. Also be careful you don’t get run over on the street when you arrive! Very dangerous location!!!!

Fabulous food and ambiance. The menu is robust and the seasonal choices are outstanding. Always start with one of their delicious homemade soups. Order the pretzel bagel with your salad, too. The entrees are so great; we’ve had steak, salmon, chicken, and short ribs. The servers are personable and provide great recommendations. We took our teenager here for a small holiday dinner and she absolutely loved it. 56 Tavern is on par with the very best restaurants in the Cleveland/Akron area. We’ll be back until Jesus calls us home…it’s that good.

Absolutely amazing. Fantastic food, the French Onion Soup was just perfect, the Cauliflower dish was full of flavor and the Shrimp Linguini one of the best outside Italy.

We had an incredible experience here! The food and drinks were great, but our server, Kean, was one of the most personable and friendliest servers I’ve ever had. We will be asking for him next time we come! He made our whole night!

Um talk about holy hidden gem!!! Absolute perfect 10/10 dinning experience tonight, beyond impressed. From the moment we walked in, being warmly greeted by the hostess and manager Dustin. The ambience of the restaurant was so comforting and made my dining experience so special. Our server Julie was an absolute professional, kept our drinks full and always anticipated our needs and never had to ask for a thing. Food was phenomenal, enjoyed the muscles for an appetizer, then had one of the best prime rib sandwiches I think exists on this planet! Ended the meal with a perfect piece of Oreo cheesecake! Between Julie taking great care of us, and the manager Dustin making sure we were consistently happy and having great customer interaction. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great food with a great atmosphere! 10/10 🙂

My wife and I absolutely love coming to 56 Tavern @ The Aurora Inn. The food, service, and atmosphere are all wonderful. We ordered the crab cakes the other night and they were truly “change your life”. The indoor seating area as well as the bar are great, and the outdoor patio is fantastic when the weather is good. They have truly done an amazing job here.
