This was our first trip to Franklin,TN and this place was suggested. We were not disappointed. The meals were good with generous portions. Not too much, but not too little. I got the Dirty Bird just because it sounded interesting. It was, but in a good way. The chicken was a pulled chicken, which in my thoughts made it a much easier to handle sandwich rather than having a chicken breast slipping out of the bun. It had a nice little zip in the seasoning and all the ingredients played well off each other.
Waitstaff was knowledgeable and very pleasant. She always kept our glasses ful and table cleared of all unnecessary plates or items.
5 of us were in our party and we were able to leave with a bill under $100. Of course we are non drinkers, and 3 people preferred water with their meal vs a soda, or sweet tea which is what I had.
Would I return for a second or third dinner or lunch there? Absolutely! The food, the wait staff, and the prices all give it a 5 ⭐ rating from me. Stop in and give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Stopped in for lunch and we were seated right away. We received friendly service from Adrian throughout our lunch, checking in after our meals were delivered, also on quality, and satisfaction while keeping water glasses filled. Food was fresh, perfect temperature with a nice presentation.

55 South in Franklin is an absolute gem and truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. The food was outstanding, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish was delicious, and you can tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they serve.

What truly set this experience apart was the staff. Alanna was phenomenal, she was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made us feel completely taken care of, anticipated our needs, and struck the perfect balance between attentive and relaxed service. On top of that, David was incredible to work with when helping us accommodate a special occasion. He was extremely communicative, thoughtful, and made the entire process seamless and stress-free. His attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond made the experience feel truly special.

Whether you’re celebrating something important or just looking for an amazing meal in a comfortable, inviting setting, 55 South delivers on every level. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and a team that genuinely cares, this place is a standout in Franklin and cannot be recommended highly enough.

I found this place as I was leaving Franklin, and it is probably a good thing as I loved it so much I would be here every day if I could!

The food was amazing, and the service was top notch.

I had the Hot Chicken plate with coleslaw and cheese grits. Absolutely delicious! Their Fried Pickles are to die for as well!

Get here, and get some scrumptious food in you, you will not be disappointed!

From SoFlo. Hit this up with a group of six for a local meal.
Overall atmosphere was fine. Par for the course.
Waitress – – was very hospitable and kind (and purty).
I ordered grilled chicken breast prepared blackened with rice and side Caesar salad ($18.99).
Chicken was great and so was the rice and salad. Only complaint on my meal and my buddies is the quantity. The rice comes in a soup cup, sooo, not so much. If you choose the platter with jambalaya rice, also in a small soup cup. Portion needs to be much bigger.
Other plates were the tacos and the catfish, which I solicited mediocre responses for.
So, I’d still say try it, but you might still be hungry after your meal. I was. I still am!
Prices were just under too much.

My husband was craving Southern-style food, so we decided to try this place while we were in the area.

Upon our arrival, the restaurant wasn’t too busy, and we were seated promptly. Our server, a friendly gentleman, was incredibly attentive.

Garlic Parmesan Crab Fries – These are an absolute must-try appetizer! They were exceptionally delicious and truly hit the spot!

Chicken & Sausage Gumbo – Initially, my husband wanted seafood gumbo, but it had been removed from the menu. We settled for this one, and I must say, it was a bit bland and didn’t quite meet my expectations. It was okay but nothing spectacular.

Grilled Shrimp Salad – The portion size was decent, the dressing was delightful, and the shrimp were fresh.

Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya – Our waiter suggested adding a fried egg on top, which turned out to be a genius idea. The dish was excellent, and my dad thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fried Catfish – The fish was fresh and well-seasoned. I highly recommend it 🙂

Overall, we had a delightful experience at the restaurant. The ambiance was wonderful, making it a perfect spot for family gatherings or special occasions. I would definitely recommend it!

The Po Boy Remix was awesome and authentic. A taste of New Orleans that was very tasty and complemented by a draft local brew. So glad we stopped here for lunch while touring the town and shopping.

So far, this place is Tosha’s favorite spot in Nashville (actually in Franklin)! She got the Shrimp and Grits, and raved about her perfect choice for the rest of our trip . I got the Chicken Biscuit & Sausage Gravy. It was good. The eggs were prepared very nice and soft. Our server was very astute, helpful and respectful. The location and atmosphere that 55 South offered is second to none! Note: Changing station in bathroom for the babies.

We stopped by for a late lunch per the recommendation from our tour guide at the Carter House and are so thankful we took her suggestion! I had the Southern Smoked Brisket Reuben with sweet potato fries and my friend had the fried chicken plate with grits and sweet potato fries. All of it was simply amazing. My sandwich was very unique and full of flavor. I would eat it again in a heartbeat. The food was absolutely delicious and our server was very kind. She even recommended an ice cream place (Jeni’s – don’t miss it!! SO good!) before we left. This will definitely be on my list to visit again if I’m in the area!

Heard about 55 South on a local television show segment fairly recently. We were in Franklin today, so we decided to stop in. We went on a Wednesday during lunch hour. There was no wait, even though we opted to be sat at the bar. It looks like they get a decent crowd for lunch.
We were there to try the much hyped Garlic Parmesan Crab Fries. They have a huge selection of beer, and we noticed there was one featured on tap called UFO Maine Blueberry. We asked for a taste, and ordered two. It was really delicious, just the right hint of blueberry.
The Garlic Parmesan Crab Fries didn’t disappoint. Everything was on point, from the cook on the fries -perfect!, to that delicious lemon mayo. We’ll definitely be back to try other dishes. I can’t wait.
