Great place to grab a meal fairly close to Charlotte. Soul Food/Country Cookin’ type of buffet. If they serve it … They made it. It will fill up after church etc. staff is very friendly and helpful. They keep the food hot & fresh. Very happy with this fine place on Lancaster highway in Upstate SC. Will be back.

521 Country Cooking is a fantastic local Buffet of Southern American specialties. Excellent fried chicken, staff is very friendly (Brittany is great!).
Everything is freshly made and delicious. I’d like to see some dessert cakes out would be my only suggestion. The A/C wasn’t working well at all but they say a unit is down. Was around 78 degrees inside today at lunch.

Great fried chicken! Good country cooking . Last time we went with a group and they had frog legs on the buffet. They were delicious! If you like home style country cooking you will like this place.

The food looks so clean, delicious foods, not heavily seasoned, seasoned just right. Desserts was delicious, peach cobbler was sooooo good (could have held out on the sugar, because it had fresh peaches which makes its own sugar) other than that, just sooooo good. Salad bar was fresh, crisp and clean. Staff was always cleaning and filling up the stations with fresh dishes and foods. The cashier was friendly, quick and made us feel welcomed.

Let me just say.. “Never Judge A Book By its Cover”! This place is a hidden gem!! I’ve always rode by this place because it didn’t look like an appealing restaurant and I would drive right on over to Jomars.. not a nice looking restaurant either but I was familiar with the food! However me and my husband decided to stop in on a Thursday afternoon around 2p and I was NOT disappointed!! The food was delicious and I mean everything I ate! I had the BBQ ribs which were oven baked (a little too long for my liking causing them to be slightly tough, but the flavor was good) I also had some chicken and dumplings 5/5.. just like my granny would make.. just delicious! The green beans and candy yams were also delicious. They were seasoned just right and the yams were not overwhelming sweet like most places.. you could still taste the sweetness from the yams itself and not a bunch of sugar! And last but not least.. the homemade peach cobbler!!! 5/5!!! Sooo good! This is my new “Go To” place for some southern soul food!!

4 adults went on a Thursday between 1 and 1:30. Everything was very good. Salad, fried chicken, rice, mashed potatoes, corn, fried okra, macaroni and cheese, cooked cabbage, banana pudding, chocolate cake and plenty more. Everybody enjoyed everything they got. The hostess that waited on us was very nice. We all plan on going again and bringing an extra person.

We’ve been here twice, and we’ve enjoyed it both times. The food has really good flavor, and the ladies make sure your cup is full and empty plates are removed. The staff are friendly. It would be nice if they had some music or TV playing softly in the background, but that is merely a suggestion. They have new kitchen gloves and sanitizer to keep the buffet and silverware areas clean. When visiting, you must remember this is not a restaurant chain; this is a family owned, country-style home cooking restaurant. The parking lot is gravel and on a grade, so it might be slightly difficult if having to use a manual wheelchair. Lastly, the price is very reasonable for all you can eat buffet. However, you do pay before you dine, so you either pay a gratuity then, or you’ll need to bring some cash.
