This is the fifth time I ordered a bagel with extra cream cheese. I paid extra for it. It was never provided as a side or put onto the bagel. They only ever put cream cheese on one side. It usually looks like a monkey slopped it together. I will never eat here again. They can’t even get something as simple as a bagel with cream cheese right. This has happened both when ordering online and in person. A complete joke.

We had a mixed experience with our visit here. We got the chicken caesar wrap and the tuna salad sandwhich.

The chicken caesar wrap was pretty good, but the dressing wasn’t dispersed well so much of it was dry. With some bites being a lot better than others, it was a bit of a let down.

The tuna salad was heavy on the celery and sogged out the bread very quickly to the point of the bread being inedible.

Service was fine – a bit slow on the food being ready. Fairly pricey too for what it is.

There is no dispute this is the best place period! Breakfast is amazing, the burrito is 10/10 and lunch will not disappoint. The carna asada fries are a must try! Everything is amazing and fresh you cant go wrong!

Like Nashville…51st Deli is full! Please stop coming here so I can enjoy my delicious lunch with a minimal wait time. Just because they have the best sandwiches in Nashville doesn’t mean you should come here.

I placed an order and was told to wait about 35 minutes, which I completely understood given how busy they were. However, during my wait, a DoorDash driver (who the staff clearly knew by name) walked in. The employee in charge of preparing orders immediately greeted her, called her by her first name, and completely skipped everyone else waiting in line. He went straight to grab her order, packed it up in a bag, and handed it to her within about 4 minutes. Meanwhile, the rest of us—including other customers and delivery drivers—were still waiting for our orders for 30 to 35 minutes.
This kind of behavior is simply not acceptable for a restaurant in the heart of Nashville, the capital of Tennessee. It felt like something you’d expect in a place with much less professional standards. The staff member’s favoritism not only left a really negative impression on me, but also on everyone else who noticed how we were all ignored. It’s damaging to the restaurant’s reputation, and that’s why I’m leaving this one-star review

Atmosphere was great. Food was fantastic. Got the chicken and waffles and avocado toast. Everything was reasonably priced. One thing I wish would’ve been done different was better plate and utensils if your eating there. Our food was packaged in styrofoam container and cheap plastic forks. Next time we’re in town I can’t wait to try the sandwiches!

I’ve driven past the various locations of 51st Deli scattered across Nashville countless times—The Nations, West End, Charlotte Pike, and now even Brentwood—but I never stopped in until recently. I’m so glad I finally did!

This spot is a true neighborhood gem, blending classic deli vibes with an unexpected twist: authentic Mexican options that punch way above their weight.
I kicked things off with three steak tacos (asada). They were packed with flavor—tender, well-seasoned steak topped with the usual onion and cilantro, and served with a choice of green or red salsa on the side. Neither sauce was overwhelmingly spicy nor too mild; they hit that perfect balanced heat that lets the flavors shine.

To go with them, I ordered the cheese dip (queso) with chips. Wow—this was a standout. Thick, rich, and creamy, exactly how a proper queso should be: velvety without being runny, with a nice cheesy depth that keeps you dipping. It’s made fresh in-house, and it shows.

Who knew you’d find Mexican food this solid at a deli? Between the massive sandwich selection, breakfast all day, salad bar, and these killer tacos and dips, 51st Deli has something for everyone. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with tons of seating and an insane drink cooler selection to boot.

Highly recommend giving it a try, especially the queso—it’s seriously addictive. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu soon! ★★★★★

Saw this place while withdrawing cash from the bank across the street. Was looking for somewhere to get some breakfast to go and this just happened to be right there.
Wasn’t sure what I was expecting when I walked in, but it has a massive selection of drinks and chips as well as sandwiches and even burritos. For breakfast I had the hot chicken and waffles, which were solid. Came back another day for a steak burrito and some queso with dip, which also also quite delicious.
Great atmosphere. Super friendly staff. On my next visit to Nashville, TN this is a definite stop.

51st Deli in Nashville is a low-key spot that’s big on flavor! Think classic deli sandwiches, homemade soups, and fresh salads. It’s a great place for a quick, tasty lunch with a friendly, neighborhood vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you’re craving a good deli experience!

So I had never heard of this spot, and my friends put me on to something so . I will do a review for the OG original on 51st as well. West End is a great location. Staff are very friendly. Food selection is above and beyond lots to choose from. The plantain chips are sooooo good. Drinks for days. My jam is avocado toast, and it is . The turkey sausage is not traditional breakfast sausage, just ground turkey meat with some good season. I didn’t taste the breakfast burrito, but it looks tasty, and I was told it was very good. If you are looking for any meal of the day, this is the place for your pallete
