We started with the Sweet Korean Fries, an easy choice because of our affinity for sweet potato fries. The Korean three spice seasoning brought the perfect amount of heat but the sweet chili oil was a little tame for what I was hoping. I like things on the spicier side, however I can’t hold it against them for trying to appeal to the flavor pallettes of the masses.
My wife has the Little Seoul Bowl with Sriracha Chicken and I had the
Dun Sun Ramen with a Short Rib and we split an order of the Bahn Mi Sliders while we swapped our bowls several times.
The Dun Sun was amazing even before I busted the egg yolk. Once it hit the Miso, the flavors combined and I was in heaven. The short rib was a perfect inclusion.
The Little Seoul Bowl was very good as well, but I think I’ll be having the Dun Sun the next time I’m in the Springs, because I will definitely be back.
The Bahn Mi Sliders we also very good, although I’m just a little disappointed with the Bao buns. As others have reported, the buns were a little dry (perhaps under-proofed?). However, neither critique is near enough to stop me ordering them again on my next visit.
My only regret is that I had to get back on the road so I was unable to enjoy one of their signature adult beverages. I’m sure they are great too!
From our very first visit, the service stood out. Our waiter was extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful, which made us feel so welcome. Over the last year, we’ve tried plenty of fun spots around Colorado Springs, but this restaurant remains one of our favorites.
The food is consistently flavorful and always hits the spot. We look forward to coming back every time we’re in town.
Parking could be a little better, but honestly, the food more than makes up for it. Highly recommend giving this place a try!
The biggest letdown was the ramen. The broth was bland and lukewarm, and it definitely wasn’t a spicy miso as described. The noodles weren’t ramen noodles at all… more like flat, short strands with no bite. The kimchi was served ice cold and tasted under pickled, and the egg was inexplicably fried. The overall effect felt like something a college student might throw together to elevate an instant noodle pack, and honestly, the two of us in the group who regretted ordering the ramen would have preferred a simple packet of Shin Ramyun.
To the managers/owners of 503W: please reconsider the dun sun ramen recipe or take it off the menu altogether. The combination of underwhelming broth, unconventional noodles, and the shallow bowl made it difficult and unenjoyable to eat. Reinventing a classic is one thing; presenting something that feels like a downgrade while still calling it ramen is another.
We wee expecting a v good meal having read some good reviews and pictures looked great. But it wasn’t to be.
None of the food items hit the mark for us. Nachos had chicken which tasted dry , Korean chicken was too sweet/pungent, Tacos were not that good. The worst part of lunch was that the Coke we ordered was all fizzed out- even the replacements were fizzed and syrupy.
If a restaurant with a full bar can’t figure out a way to serve a simple soda then its a big red flag for me.
Service was ok.
Maybe they were having an off day but this was a meal to forget for us.
