Overall, the place is worth visiting for good Indian food and have good time.
As an Indian, it can be hard to justify buying pre-made Indian food frequently, despite knowing doing so will save me a ton of cooking time during the week, which is especially nice during an intensely busy season. But that is where Tara’s $21 buffet comes in.
Tara’s buffet provides great food with a good variety between multiple meats and veggies, and the takeaway portion lasts me (personally) more than two meals, depending on how hungry I am. (For an average male like my brother, it may last two meals).
And then the service is so sweet — they are some of the kindest people you’ll meet. I am always greeted with smiles and waves:)
Overall, I highly recommend:):)
I ate Chicken 65, Goat Saag, and Garlic Naan.
The Chicken 65 was so juicy and tender, it just melted in my mouth. I get this at every Indian restaurant I go to. Every place does it a little different. I think 5 Tara may be my favorite yet!
The Goat Saag was very good. The flavor was just right, and the goat was falling off the bone.
And of course, the garlic naan. It was so light and fluffy, and the pungent aroma of garlic made my tastebuds do a little dance. Garlic truly is the greatest food ever discovered!
I have 5 Tara saved now, and I will come back next time I’m in the area!
We tried the Butter Chicken, which was rich and creamy, the Vindaloo, which had the perfect spicy kick, and the Lamb Chops, which were tender and full of flavor. Their dals, chaats, and veg kebabs were just as incredible, bringing a variety of flavors to the table. And the naan was freshly tandoor-fired, soft, fluffy, and absolutely perfect.
They also have a great selection of authentic Indian drinks, beer, and Rupee Beer, which made the experience even better. And for dessert, we had the Gulab Jamun, Rasmalai, and Kheer.
Mulligatawny Soup, Nan, Lamb Kurma and Chicken Kurma always exceed expectations. Spice levels as requested without a concern of over-doing the spice level.
Not all local Indian restaurants do these all well.
Cheers to the team that was “on point” tonight.
We tried 5 Taara’s weekend buffet and its hands down the best buffet in NOVA. From the appetizers to the main courses and the desserts NOT forgetting their hot masala cha. Everything was so delicious . The service was great too. It’s always nice to see happy, smiling servers. We also loved the beautiful holiday decorations. Will definitely be bringing our friends over next time.
Lastly, there’s a huge parking garage at the back part of the restaurant. We were here on a snowy cold rainy day and it wasn’t a pain to walk over.
