If you are looking for the quintessential Green Chile Cheeseburger, look no further than 5 Star Burgers. I stopped in recently with high expectations, and I’m happy to report that they were exceeded in every way.
The star of the show, naturally, was the Green Chile Burger.
First, the patty itself was cooked to absolute perfection. I ordered mine medium, and it arrived with a beautiful sear on the outside while remaining incredibly juicy and tender on the inside. You can tell they use high-quality beef; the flavor was rich and didn’t get lost behind the toppings.

Enjoyed an amazing “Taos Burger” with sweet potato fries here recently. First time dinning inside. I use the drive thru normally. The service was good and food was delicious and fresh. Definitely a 5 Star burger, best I have had in some time.

My husband and I weekly for dinner before heading back to Albuquerque, the good was delicious, but the service was lacking to say the least! Our server was a little busy, but treated each table completely different. One lady who was refilling drinks literally ran into me and didn’t say anything, no apology or even acknowledgement!!! That same lady was also smacking her gum the entire time shouldn’t even have gum as front of house!
Now for the good stuff, the food! We got the sweet potato fries and the fried green chile strips to start with, both were super yummy! I got the bleu cheese burger, which was phenomenal!!! Hubs got just a cheeseburger & onion rings, both of which were yummy as well. The green chile mayo was delicious as well!

Grabbed lunch at 5 Star Burgers while in Taos on business and had a great burger. Service was prompt and food came quickly, other than our drinks, which they forgot until after our food came and we asked about them. Legit burgers – tried the bacon and bleu cheese and it was good! I’d recommend a stop if you’re in Taos!

Our first day here and we’re looking for a good place to eat. A review led us to this place. You must get the sweet potato fries and maple cream dip. I’m still drooling over it! This place did not disappoint!!

Thank you Sandy, for the free burger coupons, we also ordered a large fries. And OMG!! It was all so delicious 10 out of 10. And the young guy at the window, when I went to pick up was so nice and welcoming. Thank you. Will definitely be back.

We ate on the patio with our doggies. They are very accommodating for them, even bringing them their own water and a bowl. Several staff came out to give them pets.
We both got burgers, and they were incredible. I got the Taos burger. Absolutely delicious. This is not a first date burger. You almost need a shower afterward. The fried green chile slice was awesome. My wife got the 5star burger and loved it.

Lastly our server, Charlotte, was awesome. She answered our questions about Taos. Gave us information about how the burgers are made and how the chiles are acquired. Very helpful and nice.

Came for a late lunch and this restaurant did not disappoint. It looked very nice inside and the staff was very caring. I got the bison burger with green chilies and pepper jack cheese. I appreciated that they had coffee as it was a really cold afternoon, and the creamer came in a little serving pitcher, which was a nice touch. I did get the large basket of fries. It was a straightforward, delicious burger for a reasonable price.
