I was craving pozole. This restaurant was highly recommended for Guerrero style pozole and more. Let me tell you. It did not dissapoint! I ordered the green pork pozole (hot). They also have mild and medium. The steaming hot, tomatillo broth was very flavorful with shredded pork, hominy and bits of avocado topped with julienne radishes and crunchy chicharrones. It was SO good! I also ordered the taquito appetizer. It was as good as at it looked. Little mini rolled, crispy chicken tacos served over savory, black beans and tomatillo salsa. The taquitos were topped with a little crema, guacamole and pickled onions. SO Good! I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the items on the menu! Service was also as good as the food. Do not miss this restaurant!

Good food with pretty interesting flavors even for simpler items. Nothing generous, higher end of chicago/Pilsen prices.
It’s not worth any waiting in a line for me given all the other neighboring options, but it is one of my preferred picks.

Their signature move is to top foods with shredded radishes/rabanito, which is cute and a very mild way to enjoy radishes.

As for their tacos, cecina, al pastor and chorizo tacos are quite good. The goat adobo is certainly unique and not terribly gamy (it is a bit). Flavorful salsas.

Service is efficient. Weekday earlier dinner time is probably the best time to come.

I’ve been here a few times and never been disappointed. The flavor of the food is consistent. Everyone is always friendly. I would recommend going during the week so you are not sitting on to of someone else. The tables are close together. I highly recommend their guacamole. They serve home made tortillas. They may even make them in the back. The short rib was falling off the bone tender. It just needed a little salt but no real complaints. Chicken tacos were a hot as well. You really can’t go wrong with their tacos.

Everything is so delicious no apps for me next time, we left with happy bellies. i texted the quote to my parents. my dad said true and my mom said no, torta . i can’t wait to come back again. the jamaica is so good. even just the utensils and water are so clean which is surprisingly hard to come by. the salsas are both so good too and thats also hard to come by. my favorite is still the green one.

The food used to be a lot better, for some reason the quality has gone down. The ceviche is still delicious, however the cochinita was brought to me cold and when I told the waitress, she took it back and microwave it… I had to return it, not good! The pozole has good flavor, missing crema, oregano and tostadas though!

Me and 2 friends went to 5Rabanito’s on Saturday 10/11/25 at 2pm for lunch. I will not be going back again. The food is subpar at best. I was expecting a much better taste of Mexican. We had the chips and salsa, not free (those are free at most other Mexican restaurants), Street Corn, Carne Asada, chicken enchiladas in red mole sauce, and short rib barbacoa. The canned corn was flavorless, the carne asada was a little burnt and overcooked, the barbacoa had no flavor and the chicken enchiladas in red mole sauce “looked” great but was not good at all. I’ve definitely had much better Mexican food from the smaller much less expensive side restaurants. The service was great but the food is not and not worth the cost.

Loved the atmosphere + food. Was quite busy but the wait was not too long. Ceviche was quite fresh + the sauce for it was refreshing. Quesabirria + shrimp empanadas also yum. Best bang for buck was chicken milanesa torta.

We ordered calamari appetizer and it was so delicious, perfect balance of savory and citrus kick. The taco was average, nothing impressive. My carne entrée was under seasoned, I had to keep adding salt and salsa. Overall, it was a great experience to dine in. But Pilsen offers so many choices other authentic Mexican food, I’m not sure if I would come back here.

Visited for the first time last weekend. I had the costilla de res with Chile Pasilla. The rib was cooked well. The Chile was great tast but not spicy enough for me. My wife had the “special of the day” which was grilled chicken with a butternut squash salsa. It was good as well. We had the empanadas as a n appetizer. They were good , have had better. My wife had a couple spicy Pina drink that was mixed with Mezcal. Will definitely be going back again. For now I’ll give 5 Rabanitos a 4.4 overall.
